Miscarriage now pregnant again

I had a miscarriage late August and didn't even know until I had gone to the doctor because I had been bleeding for over a week. at that same appointment I learn I had 2 large cysts and so needed to return for monitoring. End of October I took several pregnancy tests because I was late and found out I'm pregnant. I had a follow up for the cysts and told the doctor I was pregnant. Thankfully he said the cysts were gone but the ultrasound didn't pick up anything. At the time of the appointment I was about 4 1/2 weeks... Is that too early to see anything?? My hcg came back at 401... Is that about right for 4 1/2 weeks. I'm just really terrified of having another miscarriage.

Re: Miscarriage now pregnant again

  • I am sorry for your previous loss. 4.5 weeks is pretty early for an ultrasound. As far as your hCG, as single number doesn't tell you much except that you are pregnant at that point.  Are you planning on having a follow up beta drawn? You'll want to see if they double in a 48-72hr period. Fx for you.

  • Everything sounds normal so far. I'm so sorry for your previous loss. Wishing you the best of luck.
  • I'm sorry about your previous loss. As mentioned, I wouldn't think that they could see anything on ultrasound at 4 1/2 weeks. And your numbers sound right on track for about that. But as PP mentioned, a single number doesn't tell you anything. FX this is your rainbow. We are also having a check in for loss mamas called PGAL check-in. It's always stressful to be pregnant after a loss. (((Hugs)))
