Pump question

So I'm finally getting around to ordering my pump through my insurance carrier and my options for the Medela Pump in Style Advanced is either the tote or backpack.

My questions are:

If you've used that pump before, what are your thoughts on it?

I'm leaning towards the backpack but are there more pros for that or the tote?

    I have the tote and it's a great pump. I used it til 12 months for both my babies and plan on using it for this one. No advice though on the backpack.

    I liked my Medela and my personal preference was for the tote, but that was mostly because it felt more natural to go in and out of work with a shoulder bag than a backpack. They're the same pump, it's just style preference.

    Does you hospital offer classes? We just had a pump class added (I'm going in December) and my friend went last week. She said they went over in enormous detail the different style of pumps and what lifestyle they tend to work with and how to use them etc.
    it might be helpful in deciding? I'm waiting until I finish the classes to get mine. I'm too unsure right now!

    I had the tote, wasn't given an option. Loved the pump though. Hopefully I get the same one again through our insurance.

    I think I have to pay a little more to get the freestyle from my insurance, which I am going to do off recommendations from friends and family. I think I am going to go with the tote as well, because our diaper bag will be backpack and I dont think I can carry two of them :))

    I had the tote and loved it. Like PP said, it just seemed a more natural thing to carry in and out of work. I don't really know much about the backpack other than it's the same pump just different carrier.

    I had/have the tote, because that is what I was given with DD. My current insurance bought me the pump (and accessories), but no travel bag for it. I'll create a way to transport the new pump. Either way, I love the medela pump in style and I'm glad that it was an option from my insurance!
