Anyone else? Rough start to second tri?

My first trimester was pretty easy. Other than some mood swings and about three weeks of nausea, my only symptoms were big boobs, major bloat and peeing a ton. I knew I was lucky. But like every one else, I looked forward to the "glorious" second trimester. Increased sex drive, a little baby bump, new energy boosts and maybe even a "glow"? Heck yeah! I was so excited. But the first two weeks of my second trimester have been hellish! I've had bad nausea every morning, I've been terribly sensitive and crying or angry at the drop of a hat, really intense cramping non stop and what feels like bladder infection pain although it's apparently not in my bladder (docs say everything is normal) and on top of it all, an afternoon exhaustion like I've never before experienced. By 2PM I'm barely holding my eyes open and I never even dealt with this exhaustion in the first tri like you're supposed to! I'm feeling really disappointed and also wondering if I'm normal?? Anybody else have the second trimester blues?

  • Are you eating enough? Extra calories should start in the second Tri. Maybe eating a little more will help you feel better?

  • I guess that's kind of normal. I never had a glorious second trimester with my DD, and this time around I still feel exhaustion, food aversions, and mild nausea. Everybody's body handles pregnancy differently. I hope it gets better for you soon, but if not you're definitely not alone.

You're going to feel all kind of symptoms that will come and go throughout pg. For cramps, more than likely at this stage (assuming no spotting) you're stretching and/or are a little dehydrated. Try to drink more water and if you can get off your feet for a bit. I almost threw up in the car yesterday... Not nausea just full on sweating and omg there's no where to pull over type sickness. I haven't experience that at all and I'm 13 weeks.

  • Oh man. I'm making it out of the first trimester. I thought symptoms would be calming down by now. I can't sleep. I find myself laying in bed with open eyes breathing from my mouth due to severe congestion.

Nausea in the morning and vomiting mid morning. Exhaustion all the time. I experienced dizziness and started seeing stars- nearly passed out twice this morning. I believe my blood pressure dropped from lack of food all because of nausea.

I'm breaking out now and have very little energy.
However...at least my back doesn't hurt as much.

  • My first trimester was no walk in the park by far. Now, when everyone told me I would feel glorious, I still feel like crap. Some days are better than others but at least once a week I throw up everything I put in my mouth that day. I am so ready to not throw up.
