Intro and worried (losses mentioned)

Hi ladies! Congrats to everyone! I found out on Monday that I was pregnant after 1.5 yrs of trying! This will hopefully be my third child, I have a 7 and 3 yr old, but I have had a miscarriage at 7 weeks and an ectopic pregnancy before as well. I have had 2 beta hcgs's done already because of my history. The one on tues was 110 and today was 176 and my ob thinks the numbers are not rising appropriately. The 2 tests were done a little less then 48 hours apart and from what I've read they should double in 48-72 hours so maybe I'm ok but I'm so nervous! I don't want to go through this again! Anybody have any insight on the beta test?

  • Praying for you.

I've read (and was told today by a nurse at my OB) that levels need to rise by 60% after 48 hours. Some people double less quickly. 60% of 110 brings you to exactly 176 :)
  • You are correct. They are looking for rise of doubling every 48 to 72 hours. Initial numbers look promising and I know of a lot of women that have had slow and steady risers with good babies at the end. I am also PGAL. Seem to be a lot of us here. I think that after having gone through what we have gone through, it's hard to really relax. Especially waiting on everything without the rose-colored glasses. Sending thoughts and prayers your way I'm looking for your update.
  • FX from you - keep us updated.

  • I appreciate the responses! I went to the ob today and it was not helpful but I guess that is to be expected! I'm 4w3d today so it's really too early for any answers. She just wants me to do a couple more betas so we have a better idea of what's going on. It could fine or not...but it's not in my hands! It's just hard not to worry. I have been feeling "gaggy" and my stomach feels off, but now I think I have some mild cramping too so of course I feel like all signs are pointing to ectopic! But I have to remind myself it is too early to know!! I'm sure I won't get tomorrow's results until Monday so I can look forward to an anxious weekend. :(
