Belly so soon???

I'm only 7 weeks 2 days and this was me today! I hadn't eaten in several hours either....

Re: Belly so soon???

  • Baby is still blueberry sized so the belly is all bloat.  Isn't pregnancy fun?

  • What @Sgoldberg247 said. And your uterus isn't much bigger than normal yet either. Embrace the bloat my friends. It ain't going anywhere anytime soon ;)
  • I really need to wash my maternity clothes... Every time I see these posts... :-)

  • I feel like I'm starting to just barely show. To most, it probably looks like I'm just getting fat though lol. My tummy is definitely protruded a bit more and a little rounder than it typically is - I know bloat has a bit to do with it for SURE but I like to think maybe I'm beginning to show, even if it isn't obvious to people around me yet. I'm 5'1'' so there isn't much room for me to go but OUT! I'm 10 weeks today :D
  • I heard if it's ur second time around u show earlier as the uterus starts to make its way forward sooner....I didn't show with my first until 5 months and it was a tiny bump...I'm 9 weeks now and I definitely have a little bump !

This is my 3rd baby and i am 7w4d. I am only 5 ft, and i am not showing yet. I feel like since i have been eating mostly crap due to the MS that i have probably put on some weight though lol.

So I have a question: how do you know what is bloat and what is just fat? I haven't been eating much more but definitely doing less exercise due to morning sickness / fatigue... I'm hoping it's just bloat but worried there's some fat too...
  • It probably both bloat and fat, not to sound mean. Idk how to tell the diff, I guess if it goes down in size with your flatulence its bloat. But it's not the pregnancy bump. Unless you'er already in 2nd trimester we have a few more weeks to go ladies.
  • It is a pregnancy bump - because it's pregnancy related. It may not be a baby bump, but it was not there before. I am 10w1d, and don't feel like I have too much bloat yet. Most of my pants still close. :-)

As for fat vs. bloat - I think the best way to tell is if your bloat bump goes away after a good poop or is gone in the morning, it's bloat. Fat doesn't come and go like that ;)

  • You'll know it's a baby when you wake up with it :P With my first, I thought I had THE baby bump, until I woke up one morning during Week 16 and had a definite BUMP that I had never had before (doesn't feel like bloat!) and was amazed.

With my second, it showed a little sooner... Like, around Week 14 or so. Now with number Four, I'm expecting to pop around Week 12 or so. :x

  • I busted out my old maternity pants today. Might not be a baby bump yet, but it is a bump, and regular pants are just not going to happen.

I got a bump very quick with my first pregnancy too. Strangers started asking if I was pregnant before I was into second trimester. I am 9weeks tomorrow, and they say you get big faster with a second baby. I am not even 5ft tall, so there is nowhere for things to go but out, I guess!

Just embrace the bump. It's only going to get rounder, friend!
