Viability Scan

I just had my first scan today at my high risk OB's office. I should be around 5.5-6wks according to LMP, and I know what day I ovulated, so I shouldn't be too off on timing. All they saw was the gestational sac and yolk sac, no baby. I don't know what to think. The tech said it was probably just too early, but the doctor said if I'm really around 6 wks, we should have been able to see the fetal pole and a heartbeat. Then he said not to worry until my next scan in a week. Thanks doc. He was really nice and all, and I don't think he meant to make me worry, but he was talking about how if I have another miscarriage, I need to plan to get a d&c so they can run genetic testing since they haven't been able to test any tissue from any of my other losses. Not really what I wanted to hear at my first scan. Thankfully I have another appointment with my regular OB today, so maybe she can give me something a little more concrete to go on for the next week. This is why I hate ultrasounds. They never go well.

    I'm sorry about your losses. Being PGAL is always difficult. I'm sorry that it didn't show you what you wanted to see. You are definitely not out of the game yet! Yolk sac is a good thing to see. Hopefully in a few days you'll have a fetal pole and even if they don't see heartbeat at six weeks, that's still very early to see one. Usually they should have one during the six week or around seven weeks. Some just come later than others. I know people that haven't seen one until closer to eight. Still, it wouldn't surprise me if you had a fetal pole very soon. Sending thoughts and prayers and keeping everything crossed for you!

    March trip to Prague canceled due to Pancreatitis. :sob:
    Headed to Prague April 30
    3 different donors resulted in 1 PGS tested embryo and 1 fresh embryo
    2 embryo's transferred (from 2 different donors) on 5/10/16
    BFP on 5/15/16 at 5dp5dt
    Beta 1 = 81 at 8dp5dt, Beta 2 = 295 at 10dp5dt, Beta 3 = 891 at 12dt5dt. Beta 4 = 2114 at 14dp5dt, Beta 5 = 4916 at 16dp5dt, Beta 6 = 13252 at 19dp5dt
    Heartbeat at 6w5d 133BPM <3

    I'm keeping positive thoughts for you. My coworker told me a similar story yesterday ... They told her to prepare for a m/c and her follow up u/s showed a healthy baby - she's now 5yo. Wishing the same for you. Xo
