My FIL passed away when I was pregnant with our DD. We're pregnant again, and while we don't yet know the gender, we're already tossing around boy names. As you can guess, we might like to honor my FIL with the name...
The problem is my FIL's name, Tony Lee, is most definitely not our style. We also don't like Anthony/Antony (neither did my FIL). So, we're kind of stuck.
My question is - are there any other variations of Tony? Or is that it? TIA for helping us brainstorm!
You could really stretch anything ending in "ton" but it's not as clearly an honor name that way. I know you're asking about boy names, but there's also Tonya (tawn-yah).
I would use either Anthony or Lee as a middle name if you are not crazy about either as a first name. My younger cousin has his middle name as Anthony from my grandfather Anthony, who went by Tony. I always thought Anthony was a nice middle name for a boy.
Sorry @scotten I missed that! I still think you could use Tony as a middle name... But I would definitely suggest finding a first name you really love.
Re: Alternatives for Tony?
Anton
Antonius
More of a stretch
Alton

I like the suggestion of Anton. That's one MN we considered, but I thought it was too "out there."
