Has anyone tried domperidone to increase milk production. It was recommended to me by lactation nurse. Any experiences? Or success?

Re: Prescribed meds for milk supply

  • I took it with my DD 5 years ago when I went back to work. I did notice an increase in supply, but didn't even take the full 10 day supply. I had previously had an oversupply and the meds helped me get back to that song could pump. I don't think I had any side effects or that DD had any issues when I took it.

  • Is it available in the US? My breastfeeding book said that it is not regularly available in the states and that special pharmacies will make it on request....whatever that means.
I had wanted to ask my doctor for it since there are next to no side effects but then I read on to see that the US is not a country where you can buy it.
Regalin didn't seem worth it to me with side effects like depression and anxiety
  • I know this gets mentioned a lot but honestly fenugreek worked wonders for me in just 3 days. I was only able to pump about .5 oz total and 3 days later I am pumping 2oz per boob. I also only really pump in the morning because I hear that's when your supply is highest. I was skeptical of fenugreek being that good but it has helped me immensely and I hope it keeps helping me boost supply.
