Where are you registering?

Where will you all register?

This seemed easier to navigate for our wedding. We registered at Bed Bath & Beyond and Kohls because they're stores our guest would normally frequent. Buy Buy Baby seemed like an easy first choice, but the ones we have are in the suburbs and not somewhere all of our family and friends would visit often. So, I thought about Target because.... who doesn't love Target? But their return policy stinks. So hopefully you all have better suggestions.

Re: Where are you registering?

  • We registered at target, mostly for out-of-town family and friends and also babies r us because they had pretty good deals for returning things and coupons for registry completion. Although we really didn't have any problems returning things to Target. We got in store credit for a lot of things that we got doubles of. Babies r us was really easy to return/exchange things too.

We'll probably do the same this time even though we're not having a shower just for the coupons!

Also I LOVE buy buy baby but most of my family and friends have never even heard of it and aren't from the area that it's located.

  • Most family and friends with my first had a Walmart so I registered there, Amazon, and had a diapers.com registry for cloth diaper things. I actually am registered again this time as family like to know what we need and will shop from that for Christmas presents. I'm doing Walmart and Amazon again. My mom is big on Amazon and my MIL will do Walmart.

  • Buy Buy Baby, Kids R Us, and maybe Target
  • We are actually registering at BabyList. I like it because you can have multiple stores on one registry. You can do pretty much any website (Target, Amazon, and even Etsy) They also have a "helps and favors" section where you can request things like used baby clothes, doing laundry, preparing freezer meals, babysitting, and even dog walking.

One thing I really like is that you can link multiple websites to one item (i.e. Amazon, Target, Walmart...) so people can price shop for the best deals  ;)
  • I did target and baby depot for my first. Made a target one for my 2nd because they send out coupons with it. Same thing this time. I had to return things from my registry the first time, and I had no problem, of course I could have just gotten lucky too. Target is the best baby place around here though so its the obvious go to for me :)
  • We will register at Buy Buy Baby and Target. I like Buy Buy Baby better than Babies R Us. And you can use Bed Bath and Beyond coupons there.
  • I did Babies R Us and Target.  I didn't have any problems with Target for returns.  As long as the item is on your registry they'll return it without a receipt for store credit.  I didn't mind store credit since I shop at Target all the time.

  • We don't have a Buy Buy Baby near us so we've registered at Babies R Us.  They're return policy is great, and they'll send you a percent off to your email closer to your due date to get the remaining items on your registry that haven't already been purchased.  I was debating registering at Target too, but I feel like I have most of our stuff one our Babies R Us registry and don't really know why I'd need a second one at this point.  Maybe i'll change my mind!

This! Baby list is bomb. I've got my registry started already :)

  • Amazon (for our out of towners and bc I love their selection and prices) and probably Target for the not so tech savvy people.

  • I did Babies R Us as my main one and Target with a few items. I have one on Amazon too, but I won't bother telling anyone, it's more for me. I had put Amazon and Bed Bath & Beyond as our wedding registry and no one bought off of the Amazon registry. I used Amazon though to find the products I wanted for my other 2 registries since they have more reviews on their site. I'm impatiently waiting for my test results so I can update my registries to boy or girl specific.

  • Baby List for us. We want items that are at a bunch of different places and didn't want to over complicate by having a bunch of different registries. Also we liked that we didn't have to stick with the standard babies r us and target if we saw things we liked elsewhere.
  • If you set up a baby registry at Target (you don't even have to add items) you can go to the Guest Services Desk and get a free welcome bag, which includes coupons and free items worth around $60. I set up a registry yesterday with them (basic info) and picked up my free bag today with no issues. According to their registry website you have a year from your due date to return items with no issues.

I also set up a Babies R Us registry too and plan on mainly using that as our out of town family has one or multiple near them for convenience. Plus, IMO they have a nice earnings program for your registry and everyday items too.

  • We have registered at Amazon- and you can add things from other websites! - and Target.
  • We did Amazon and will again but keep this one private. They also do a completion discount but make sure your items are sold from Amazon not another seller otherwise they don't qualify, as I figured out too late last time.
  • For those of you that aren't a FTM, do you have any good registry tips for FTMs on things we definitely need? Or any good websites that have lists of must haves for a registry?

Every mom is different so it's so hard to say what is a need. I loved my Boppy, bouncey seat, cradle swing, and Avent bottles (don't leak, worked well for us, and super easy to clean). Obviously stuff like a crib. I never really used my glider/rocking chair but loved my changing table. We live on one floor so it was easy for me to go change her in her room. The dresser we were given was a tall one so no way to make it into a changing table. I'm not into changing diapers on the floor, the bed, etc. But a lot of people will tell you a changing table is unnecessary.

  • I'm think we'll just do Amazon but maybe a second one at Babies R Us in case someone wants to go to a store in person. How do you decide what to put on each one?!
  • Babies R Us, Target and Amazon (mostly for cloth diapers)

  • I really love MyRegistry, being military and having family across the world we needed it to all be online so this worked best for us! Plus I can add anything from any website, which is perfect because I am obsessed with Etsy and most UK baby stores! Is it bad that I feel like I've already finished my registry?
  • I used Amazon last time, because I like odd things from unusual little online retailers and it allows me to consolidate those things onto one master list. I've heard good things about Baby List, though, so I'd consider switching, except that most of my family already knows to look for my Amazon wishlist, so it's probably easier not to migrate. I'm not expecting a lot of gifts with baby #3 anyway, but I use these lists for myself as well to keep track of things I want/need to buy, and it might as well be accessible in case someone wants to shop for me, I guess.

  • Add me to the Baby List group. I really enjoy being able to have everything in one place.
  • I have no idea! I'll probably wait until after the anatomy scan to get going on a registry, I'm superstitious and don't want to jinx anything. I'm also just not a natural planner type. I really appreciate hearing everyone else's plans and will definitely be checking out Baby List!
  • First baby we did Babies R Us, Target, and Amazon. This one I may do the same places but mark them private just so I get the discount coupon once baby arrives. I don't plan on having a shower or asking for gifts for baby 2.

FYI - Target & BRU give you registry starter gifts and coupons if you sign up for your registry in store.

  • I found lists on pinterest I believe for a registry starting point.  if you google you can find good lists too along with how many of everything you *need*.  Some of the best advice I got about registering: if you think you're going to have more than one child, register neutral for large items like car seat, swing, etc.
  • For our first, we registered at BRU.  I always find they have a much better selection for baby items than Target does... We don't have a Buy Buy Baby local, and I could have done online (amazon) but I knew a lot of people would prefer to go to the store.

They had some really good incentives and I ended up with $200 "cash back" (gift card) after DS was born, since everyone purchased from my registry.  And they sent me a ton of coupons (haven't shopped there regularly in a while so it slowed down... the more you shop, the more they give you).

I just started a registry for #2 and I went with BRU again, again for the incentives and selection.  I don't really plan on sharing it with anyone, but figured it was a good way to keep track of what we needed and get some good deals in the meantime.
