My husbands brothers name is Calel, pronounced the same way. Honestly, I really don't like the name. It's not cute on a kid. I also noticed everyone pronounces it differently cause it is such a strange name to hear. But it's not bad
If you are going for the pronunciation, you may as well just use the traditional spelling in the franchise, or maybe disregard the apostrophe and just spell it Kalel. But I wasn't aware there was an arabic translation. Which is probably why the baby name board exists, because those ladies do know a lot about this stuff
I had a student named Khalil. (Kah-leel) for what it's worth, he was a super smart kid, in AP classes and stuff. That's the hard part about naming kids when you're a teacher!! Ha!
Re: is Khalil a boys name??
Looks like a legitimate additional spelling of the name is Khaleel.
You could use Khalid which means eternal.
