I am nearly 9 weeks pregnant and I am suffering from constant dizziness and sometimes fainting, I was diagnosed with postural tachycardia syndrome. Which affects the heart muscles and can't pump the blood around properly which causes high blood pressure when I stand up and blackouts I just dont know what to do I want to go back to work but don't know if I can survive 12 hour shifts any advice would be grateful thank you >:D<

  • Hey mama! I actually have POTS too!!! I was on a beta blocker for 12 years and only went off of it because we found out we were pregnant. I was a little scared since I would totally notice any day I missed my pill, pounding heart rate, things would turn black when I stood up, and so on. But actually being pregnant has helped my POTS. The cardiologist says that the elevated blood volume actually helps us out a little. I hope you start to feel better!!!

  • You definitely need to be seeing a cardiologist.  Did they set you up with one?

  • This is something you should look into disability for. Even if you don't take it, you would know your options. You probably also need a medical note to help with work to give you some flexibility.
