Infertility

sick during transfer

After retrieval I was really bloated, constipated, and really uncomfortable.  Monday, the day before my transfer, I finally got my body re hydrated and completely flushed out, however I was not even close to felling 100% by Tuesday morning when I went for my transfer.  They told my my ovaries were still swollen and enlarged. It also made the transfer a little bit more challenging but still successful. Now that its Wednesday and over 24 hours since transfer, I am still bloated and uncomfortable.  Has anyone else felt this way and how did you relieve your symptoms.

Hey kindrex, I'm confused. I read on another thread that none made it, must of been mistaken. Did you end up having one to transfer?

After my transfer I didn't feel great either. I mean, on Fresh Cycles,  your body has been through a lot. Its normal to be quite bloated from both the retrieval and the transfer. I wouldn't worry too much about not being 100%. Just take care, rest lots, and don't do anything overly strenuous.

In terms of what i did to relieve symptoms... I grinned and beared it. Didn't want to take any drugs, and didn't want to do a heat pad on it or anything... so just stayed super hydrated and rested as needed. Warm foods (and bevies like lemon water) helped somewhat. I dunno.

    Best of luck to you!

  • ^this. Also confused, was just reading how sadly none of yours made it after day 3? :/

That said, I had a miserable transfer with fluid, enlarged ovaries, stress the works and it didn't matter. Afterward, I was still miserable and just made sure to rest and hydrate as pp said.

  • @oxinfree @hbamama2b yes ladies we jumped right into another cylce after the last.  We were going to wait for the spring but we felt that we were waiting for no reason bc happening on our own just does not seem to be an option for us.  So I had my second retrieval on thrusday and my transfer on tuesday.  This retrieval hit me harder than the last.  I got less eggs, but for some reason my body was on overdrive this time.

Thanks for the advice! thats what I have been doing.  I've been resting and staying home eating soup and drinking tea! and more water then I thought I could ever have!  I just hope that none of this affects this little embryo from implanting!

  • It shouldn't affect implantation. Your body has been through a ton with back to back IVF cycles. If your resting and hydrating you're doing your best! Hope you got some to freeze those round as well!
