Re: TWW post (week of 11/2 - 11/8)

  • Currently at 12dpiui.  I've had some nausea.  My temps have started to come down so AF is probably lurking around the corner :(  I will POAS Wednesday.  FX to everyone testing this week.

  • I am 7dpo- I have one more week to go! Ai yi yi! Every cycle I have been TTC about 2 days before AF shows up I loose my breast tenderness (which shows up 1-2 days after ovulatiom.) It's like clockwork and I am terrified of it, it's so crazy accurate that I really don't need to take a HPT if it happens. So I wait for it to go away or stick around, and if it's still there by next monday I'll test. I'm still working on being less stressed this cycle and that has been much better. Over the weekend I subbed a bunch of prenatal classes at my yoga studio so I have been in contact with over 50 pregnant ladies this week. Some of that HCG has to rub off right???  :-/
  • 5-6 dpo today and feeling nothing. At this point my chart looks like every other chart of mine (pg and not pg) so I can't even try to make a guess yet as much as I stare at it. :) We're leaving for vacation tonight and I'm not bringing my thermometer. We return Nov 11 so if AF isn't here by then I'll test the 12th with fmu. So I won't be around until then. Hoping I have good news when we return, and hoping to hear others have good news too!

  • @Sinnet hope you have a great vacation
  • Probably 6 DPO. I don't have any symptoms and wouldn't expect to, really. I feel calm, which I am taking as a good sign. :) it's a crazy busy week at work, which may help time go by more quickly. AF is due 11/11, so I won't test before then and will try to wait at least a few days to see if she shows on her own. Hoping and praying that this is our cycle. And doing the same for the rest of you in the TWW too! Come on, BFPs! Let's see ya!

    @sinnet--have fun!
  • BFN this morning so I'm out.  Wait for AF to see if the RE will do another round

Aww shucks @agriffin92013 sorry about AF :-O
  • Dang it. I'm sorry @agriffin92013 I hope the RE is open to trying again.
  • Go next week to sit down with RE and see what the options are if he says IVF I'm out.  We decided when we started this journey IVF was not an option for us.  I do have an appointment for my first acupuncture visit Saturday so maybe that will go somewhere.  FX for the rest testing this week.
  • I hope he will continue to work with you--or be able to refer you to someone who will. Glad you were able to get an appointment to discuss options with him.
  • @agriffin92013 If your RE isn't open to trying another IUI, find another RE.  I'm in the TWW of my 7th IUI, and if I wanted to keep going for 10 or 12 IUIs, my RE would let me (although my situation is a little different, since I never tried to get pregnant at home, but started with IUIs from the start).

I am at the point where if this IUI doesn't work, I will go for IVF.  My RE thinks it's a good idea because the success rate is so much higher, and she's beginning to suspect there's an adhesion near my right ovary, since it always hides out behind my uterus, and that can screw with my ability to get pregnant even though no problems showed on the HSG.

But she's doing a cost-benefit analysis, and thinks I might be wasting money on IUIs if there's a problem.  If I wanted to keep doing them, she'd let me.

So if this RE doesn't support your desire to try more IUIs, find another RE.
Me- 39 (turning 40 in April), TTC for the first time ever (since Jan 2015), low ovarian reserve
Married 3/14/14 to my wonderful wife, but her sperm count is rather low
TTC with frozen donor sperm and science

    7 IUIs, 7 BFNs.
2 IVF attempts, both cancelled and converted to IUI, both BFNs.
Decided that my tired old ovaries are ready to retire.
Next step- reciprocal IVF, using my wife's eggs, my uterus!
fresh 5 day transfer (2 embryos) 4/17/17- BFP!
Identical twins "due" 1/2/17 (but anticipated arrival sometime December)

  • I feel like I'm getting my hopes up. I hadn't really eaten today, and then we went out to dinner at a diner. There were tons of things on the menu that i would normally love, but none of it sounded good. Had a salad and a cup of soup. And then apple pie a la mode. That hit the spot! Anyway. I want it to mean something. These next few days are gonna be long....
  • @Sporty1216 I hear ya! I'm on the final home stretch to AF or ??? on monday. The last part of the TWW is agonizing. FX this is your cycle!! Btw I ate dessert with every meal yesterday...
  • Had my initial accupuncture appt today and it was much easier than I thought. I'm scared to death of needles lol. When I first told Dh I was thinking about going he laughed and asked me how was I gonna lay there and let someone put needles in me when I'm scared of them
  • Way to go, @agriffin92013 ! And, @createillumination --we'll make it through these last few days, but boy are they long. Filling them with desserts helps though. Haha.
  • Thanks, @jilligan14 ! We can all use all the cheering on we can get. ;) as much as I love seeing all of you wonderful gals in here, I hope we are all moving on to be graduates ASAP! Come on come on, BFPs!!!!
  • I'm out, AF came a day early. Good luck for those who are still waiting!! Come on BFPs!
  • BFN for me.  That means I get to learn all about IVF now...

  • sorry @createillumination and @KLake42  FX for your next cycle
  • Shoot. So sorry @createillumination and @KLake42 I hope the next time is THE time.

I'm still waiting on pins and needles here. AF is due on the 10th. If she doesn't show (please, God!), I have promised myself I won't test until the 13th. We'll see how I do (or whether I even need to worry about it).
  • @KLake42, I'm sorry you have to move to IVF.  I hope there is a bit of excitement in that as well, though.  When doing what you've been doing isn't working, moving to the next step brings new possibilities and lots of hope.  Fingers crossed for you!!

  • @KLake42 - I'm sorry!  I was so hoping this one would be the lucky one for you!  Thinking of you as you move on.  It took me a while to grieve getting pregnant semi-naturally (if IUI an be considered natural), but I'm finally excited about IVF.  I hope you can get to that point too...
