Outside walks- too cold?

I'm Canadian and temperatures are getting colder now- daily high is 4 degrees Celsius . I feel cooped up in the house but worry this is too cold for my baby to be outside? Of course I bundle her up but her face will still be exposed (I have a thick car seat cover but not sure it's enough to protect her) what do you guys think? At what temperature are you staying inside?

Re: Outside walks- too cold?

  • I think if you can bundle baby up and keep baby warm you should be fine. I had to walk about 2 miles with my son in 35 degree weather when he was a few months old. He was warmly bundled and stayed warm during the 45 minute walk.

  • I would still be out walking with him!!
  • Fresh air is good for them, get out while you can! Just remember to cover the ears- ear infections are torturous for you and little one.
  • Maybe put him in a wrap carrier so he gets your body heat? Im on the west coast of Canada so its still 11-12 degrees out but I put LO in a warm sleeper and hat and then wear him under my chunky sweater.
  • What I was told was this; whatever about of clothing is keeping you at a comfortable temperature, add a layer further than that and baby will be fine :)
