femara success stories?

Hello everyone! new to this site but would love to share my story. Me and my Husband have been TTC for 4 years now. I have PCOS and do not ovulate on my own so we seeked a infertility specialist 2 years ago. We tried a few rounds of clomid, I had a HSG, he had a SA.. everything was normal. I took some time off from seeing the RE after a few failed clomid rounds. I went back last month to a new doctor. He started me on 5mg of femara and monitoring by ultrasounds. I took it CD 2-6 went in on day 14 and nothing so Dr. restarted on 7.5 mg right away for 5 days. I went in Yesterday and had 1 Mature Follicle (measuring 20mm) took a trigger shot last night and suppose to do TI for next 3 days and start progesterone Wednesday. Then i can test in 2 weeks. 

Just looking to hear other stories/ successes with Femara. If this cycle w/ TI doesn't work we will do IUI next cycle.

    I have a feisty beautiful red headed 7 year old that is my success story. Took three years. metformin, femera, ovidril, IUI, and progesterone is what worked for us. Now 7 years later and different dh and we are starting or first round of Femera and ovidril with timed Bding for baby number 2. Ubnfortunantly we have gotten pregnant very quickly twice in a row, but both ended in miscarriage. Best of luck to you!!

    Can't give you a success story yet but we did letrozole which I think is the same as femera this cycle and also got one mature follicle at 20. Back to back IUIs yesterday and today. Progesterone and estridiol compound suppositories start tomorrow. I am also taking daily aspirin as recommended by my RE and obviously a pre-natal. For now I am pregnant until proven otherwise LOL. Mind over matter :)

    @PCOSat25 what is the name of your progesterone and estridiol compound suppositories? My doctor is prescribing me crinone this time (I'm only CD2), and if that's not what you are taking, I may ask my RE about it. I'm worried my estrogen level is dropping and causing my pre-AF spotting.
    Married to DH 10/6/12
    TTC since 5/14
    Unexplained with (controlled) hypothyroidism and suspected ovulatory dysfunction (but, I do ovulate on my own)
    Clomid 50 mg 3/15 (unmonitored) - BFN
    Clomid 50 mg + metformin 4/15 (unmonitored) - BFN 
    First RE appt. 5/15; Natural cycle 5/15 monitored with 2 mature follicles and Pregnyl Trigger (full dose) + prometrium - BFN
    6/15 HSG - clear tubes & normal uterus; great PCT test results
    TI - 100 mg Clomid + prometrium (AM & PM) + vaginal estrace (AM & PM) 6-7/15 (monitored) --> no additional response and thinned lining - BFN
    TI - Injectables (follistim + Gonal-F, Ganirelix, & 1/2 dose Pregnyl) + prometrium (AM & PM) 9/15 --> 3-7 mature follicles (3 definites and 4+ that could have matured due to trigger) @ O -->BFN + 5 large cysts
    BC for 2 weeks due to cysts
    TI - Injectables (Gonal-F, Ganirelix & full dose Pregnyl) + prometrium (AM & PM) 10/15 --> 1 mature follicle --> BFN 
    TI - Last attempt at injectables (Gonal-F, Ganirelix & 1/2 dose Pregnyl) + crinone (AM only) + vaginal estrace (AM & PM) 11/15 --> 3-4 mature follicles --> BFP!! 11/27/15 @ 13dpo (shockingly, actually waited until then to test)

    Beta #1 @ 16dpo (11/30/15) = 1,075
    Beta #2 @ 19dpo (12/3/15) = 3,150
    One baby: Saw heartbeat @ 5w5d (114 bpm; baby measuring 2.3mm)

    I am currently 7w5d pregnant. My protocol was femera/letrozole cd 4-8, ovidrel trigger shot cd 11, TI cd 11,12,13,14,15. I was monitored by ultrasounds and had one dominant follicle that was 16mm and a few others than ranged from 9mm to 14mm. The thing I did differently this time, which was definitely hard, was to really take it easy during my tww.. No strenuous exercising, going to bed early, ate lots of warm foods (which is interesting being that I live in Florida!!).. Try to relax and take it easy during your tww.. The less stress the better :) Good luck!!!

    @riveridgional I just checked the bottle and there isn't any kind of brand/medication name. It says the suppositories are ESTRADIOL 2mg and PROGESTERONE 100. I think my RE has them specially compounded for his patients as I had to go to a specific compound pharmacy for them.

    I did Femara + fsh injections + ovidrel + IUI and got pregnant in August. Before that I had tried 3 rounds of clomid but it thinned out my lining more and more each time. Good luck to you!

    I did Clomid for 3 cycles did absolutely nothing only thinned my lining! Switched my RE he started me of on tamofixen for 3 cycles but nothing stuck them 3 cycles of Gonal-f injections now we are trying femara since he thinks I have mild PCOS! Hopefully this works !!

    @jlynn330 if you don't mind me asking what was you fish dosage. I am currently on a letrozole cycle with 50 mg fsh. Sounds like I might be on a similar plan as when you got you BFP. FX

    I was on only 50 every other day and then on day 12ish I went to 75 every day for three days. I triggered on day 14 and had my IUI on day 16. I think all of those days are correct! Fx for you!!
