Spotting

Hi,

So I just found out I'm pregnant again yesterday, after having an early miscarriage in January. I've been having a bit of cramping (which is apparently normal according to the other posts) but also a little bit of spotting. It's only very light and is a very light pinkish colour (sorry for the over share!) but it seems that everything I've read about spotting in early pregnancy points to implantation bleeding and I think it's too late for that (4 and a half weeks). I may just be paranoid after miscarrying last time but what if it means something? Has anyone else had experience of this? Is it normal or should I go to see my doctor?

Re: Spotting

  • I would definitely call your doctor if you're worried. We can't really give you medical advice.

  • I know and I have. But I wanted to hear from other people if they had experienced it too.
  • There has been people, if not on this BMB, who have experienced spotting. Sometimes after sex or sometimes after cramping. I would second what @knitmama said and reach out to your doctor if you are concerned.

Spotting can mean a variety of things and why someone had spotting can be a different reason for why you are seeing it too. Good luck and I hope its nothing serious!

  • I'm sorry for your loss.

Spotting and cramping can both be very normal in early pregnancy. If the spotting turns to a bright red flow of blood, then definitely contact your doctor.

Hopefully it won't turn to that but for others who might be reading this, filling up more than a pad an hour of bright red blood means it is time to go right in.

Again, I am so sorry for your loss. light spotting and cramping are common. You can definitely contact your doctor if your wish. Good luck and today, you are pregnant.
  • I had light spotting Sunday and Monday. Started pink then went to brown. I texted my RE about it and she upped my progesterone, but said it was most likely just old blood.  It doesn't hurt to reach out to your doctor if you are concerned! Fx for both of us that its nothing!
