Very new here... AMH level

Hi ladies! I am very new here… I have a baby boy that is almost 14 months old. I was very fortunate and conceived him easily – first try. However, I am 35 and decided to start trying to conceive my second. I went off the pill about five months ago. I got a normal period right away. However, my last two periods have been very short – one was one day and the other was just two days. I went to the doctor and she was very proactive and tested my AMH level. She's was basically shocked to learn that it was only .446. I had no problems conceiving my first. Do you think this is from the pill? Could this be a mistake? Have any of you ever heard of this? I am so new to this and I am very nervous. What does this all mean? She already mentioned cloned. Thoughts? Thank you so much!

hi there! I have never conceived, and at 34 was ready and got my amh tested. Mine is low as well-because of my age and freak out desire to be a mom

they sent me directly into a RE. I have done 2 rounds of clomid but now need to take a break and have a quick surgery to remove a polyp most likely caused by the clomid. I hear all kinds of success stories from clomid, and haven't heard any bad yet... (encourage people to share here) Don't worry, this is not the worst news by any means!! I would suggest getting in with RE right away and any testing done asap so you can move forward. My test was just blood tests and the hsg (?) basically they stick this thing up there and shoot some dye to make sure everything is flowing right and there are no blockages.

Side effects aren't that bad-headaches, mood swings, some weight gain...

Im pretty new to this too, and find myself on here every night as a way to talk/learn/vent etc...alot of people on here have great advice and are willing to help. anyway we are here, keep your head up! (Its probably not wrong) sending you baby wishes

Hi @JessTy3 Welcome to this board and sorry you have to be here. I was diagnosed with Low AMH/Diminished Ovarian Reserve right around my 33rd birthday in 2014. My AMH level was 0.39 and my RE explained that because my AMH is so low and my cycles aren't regular that when I ovulate the egg is probably not mature enough to sustain a pregnancy. At the time my cycle was anywhere between 21-32 days but I was ovulating around day 11 which means the egg wasn't mature. Low AMH doesn't mean you can't have a baby, it just means you don't have a lot of eggs left. IVF is a great option because of how it controls the cycle to mature the eggs, the down side is with low AMH even with stimulation meds,in most cases they don't expect you to produce a lot of eggs. Do you know what your Antral Follicle Count was when they checked you right after your period to see how many eggs you were producing in each ovary on your own. That will give them a good idea of how many eggs they will expect you to produce during an IVF stimulation. The way my RE explained it to me was that everyone is born with a certain number of eggs, but the rate at which those eggs decrease from woman to woman will be based on certain hormone levels, genetic factors etc.

But be encouraged, even with low AMH you still may be able to get some good quality eggs with the right stim protocol. Which leads me my question: Are you working with an OB or are you seeing a RE?
