when you go shopping with baby?

I have the Britax b agile system, so I click out the carseat and then I put it in the shopping cart. However, this takes up SO much room, there isn't much room for food. How do you transport your little one at the store? My son is 5 weeks.

I've been trekking my mom to the store with me a lot so she pushes stroller and I get a cart. When she can't/doesn't want to go I do what you do if I just need a few things. If it's a big trip I wear the baby. Thankfully my 4yr old is super well behaved at the store so she walks and likes to help!

I have had to switch to baby wearing... mostly because LO hated to be in his car seat for that long. But I had your same question a few weeks ago! It was so much easier when carriers fit on top of the carts. I get that everyone decided that it's not as safe, but no one came up with a better idea to get shopping done!

Fwiw: we have gotten really good at using our Ergo. And it's almost a given that LO will fall asleep (and stay asleep) in there... so I plan shopping trips for nap time, and enjoy not being in a hurry.

I use mine in the cart & I haven't had a problem. I shop weekly for a family of 4.

I haven't figured out a better system either. Helps you stay on a budget though since you can only got so much food. Don't forget to use the bottom level below the cart too!

I have discovered that baby wearing is the key to shopping bliss! I just strap on my boba before I leave the house and as soon as he's in there he either falls asleep instantly or looks around for a while before nodding off. Plus people don't get too close if you wear to a +1 for germ prevention!

I used a Moby wrap when DD was that young then the Ergo. Otherwise my husband and I would go shopping together and use 2 carts.

Yeah i tried this once and was similarly disenchanted. I agree that the only way really is to either go with another adult who can push the baby in its stroller while you push the cart, or baby wearing. Until about the 10 week mark, i would leave LO home with DH and go grocery shopping by myself. Even now, at 4 months, we don't bring her places one-on-one unless we don't have a lot of stuff to buy (she doesn't care for the car seat, and it doesn't fit in the cart anyway, and she's also not a fan of being worn for long periods of time - plus she weighs 18lbs, so wearing her on the front is excruciating for more than a few minutes. We'll get back into that when she's old enough to be worn on our backs).

I wear DS in the ergo. We did our first solo trip to the grocery store last week and he was an absolute angel. He looked around at first and then fell asleep for the rest of the trip. I rarely pull out the stroller for shopping unless there is a possibility of me trying on clothes or shoes, the rest of the time ergo Carrier it is

If I have to get a lot I use the Ergo carrier. If not I just stick her in the basket of the cart. Other places like the mall etc I keep her in the stroller

I use the baby ktan love it for grocery shopping and doing some housework. Babies like being worn.

Ergo! Unless we don't have a lot of stuff to get and/or she's asleep in the car seat when we get there.

I put the toddler in the seat part of the cart and wear the baby. That way I have the entire basket empty.

My friend had this hammock type system that laid across the cart and the baby could lay in. I will try to find the link. I wear the LO and she always falls asleep!
