Can't figure out whats wrong!! :-(

I know something is wrong and I cannot figure it out and doctor isn't really finding anything.

I am 29yrs old, 25 weeks and 4 days pregnant. We do not know the sex.

About 2 weeks ago I started feeling very off, I felt like it was my blood pressure so I started monitoring it. I was having right shoulder pain like I slept on it wrong, it hurt so badly to breathe in, I felt very out of it like I couldn't stay focused or have a conversation. I started getting the back pain and nausea then broke out in a fever and chills but wasn't sick  as well as constant headaches. I thought for sure I was starting to develop pre-e but I have zero swelling and my blood pressures were great. 116 or 115 over 60's repeatedly. That is normal for me. I asked to have my liver count checked because it was high in the beginning of the pregnancy as well as my urine to see if I was spilling protein. My liver count came back normal and the protein came back, "trace." So nothing is really screaming out. I do have a history of high blood pressure, been induced with 3 pregnancies due to it but all late in the pregnancy, 37 weeks, 38 and 39.

I figured this was just a fluke and who knows what's wrong. Then I went to my OB appointment this monday, 10.26.15, I was calm, had not been rushing, I was 15 min early to my appointment, my baby sitter showed up an hour early, I sat out in the waiting room for about 10 or 15min before even being called back and then when they took my bp it was 143/87. They had me wait about 20 min, drink some water, re-took it and it was 121/71 so they let me go home and asked me to send in daily bp checks every day for the next 2 weeks.

I have been feeling off ever since that appointment, can't focus, feel sometimes like I'm about to black out, and again last night broke out in fever and chills which I still currently have but I don't feel sick at all, no nausea... no nothing just constant chills and breaking out in sweats and fevers. I don't get whats wrong with me! I've been monitoring my bp since the appointment, Tuesday morning it was 137/86 with a pulse of 129 and all I had been doing was standing up making scrambled eggs. So I went and sat down for about 15 min, re-took it and it was 123/74 with pulse of 110. I took it again later that day and it was 132/78.

Yesterday my levels were 118/82 with 113 pulse and I have not taken it yet today because I take it at 10:45 every day. My top number keeps fluctuating but the bottom I feel is staying high or increasing way above what it's normal number is. I've always been in the 60's for the lower number and I'm no where close right now. Maybe it's nothing but again last night here I am with constant chills and a fever, breaking out in sweats, and it's continuing this morning but I don't feel sick. I know something is wrong but nothing is screaming out and the doctor can't really find anything either. Has anyone else had any issues like this? This is my 5th pregnancy, I'm not new to the game and definitely try not to complain over little things but I just know something is wrong. :-/  Any suggestions would help at this point!

  • Have you tried acupuncture? Sometimes a totally different perspective can be helpful and there are some out there who specialize in pregnancy and fertility.

  • Maybe a second opinion? Agree with PP, new persepctive may help.

  • The shortness of breath and back pain and some of your other symptoms could be a pulmonary embolism which pregnant women sometimes get. A blood clot in your pulmonary arteries. Ask if they could check your d-dimer with a blood test. It could totally not be that at all but when you 1st talked about the trouble breathing with back pain and nausea that's what it made me think of.

  • Is this the same doctor you had with your other children? I know at my last appt I saw a different doctor in the practice. She's new and treated me like I was a first time mom and didn't know my body. She did several uti and vaginal bacteria tests which I knew I didn't have because I've had so many. Her nurse didn't even check my chart to know my BP is always 98/60 and thought something was wrong because it was low.
In the end if you feel like something's wrong call and make an appt because you know you the best. For example right after DD was born I knew something was wrong and doctors kept saying it was PPD and mad me feel crazy. A month and lots of tests later we finally found out my thyroid was off and I was having panic attacks

Sounds just like when I had issues with my gallbladder and kidneys, I also had h. pylori at the time and e. Coli.

  • Sounds like it could be anxiety.
I was thinking the same thing. With my first pregnancy I was very anxious at one of my appts (crazy day at work then rushed to the doctor) and my BP went up high. Then within a short amount of time it was back to normal. I mean I'm no medical professional but that was my first thought.

I agree with getting a second opinion and also the acupuncture idea.

I can agree to the anxiety thing.  I used to have it really bad (now it just comes and goes) but it anxiety can trick your body into feeling a lot of things that don't necessarily mean anything is wrong with you, especially if you're having shortness of breath.
