Re: TTCAL check-in 10/26

  • I'm still in month 17 TTC, month 14 TTCAL, but am in a new cycle now as AF started last Friday :( No matter how much I remind myself that a BFP is unlikely, I still am disappointed to see AF arrive. We have some appointments coming up (acupuncture, infertility testing) so I'm looking forward to exploring what is going on.

Gtky: I am a commercial interior designer and I love it! I work on offices, libraries, fitness/rec centers, worship, performing arts, etc. Sometimes I wonder if there were something else I could do that was less stressful and had better work/life balance, but I think some of the stress comes from my type A personality - I always want to do my best and am frustrated when I am so busy that doing my best on everything is hard to do.

  • 2. Still benched for surgery but tracking cycles. Finally got an OPK+ on cd22. Crossing my fingers for a normal luteal phase.

    3. I work as a molecular biologist at a large research university. Yes and no - I went to school to train to be a scientist but I want to be a mom. There is a lot of failure involved in research and that is hard to take over a long period of time. Especially when I fail at making babies too.

  • 2. Status:  Month/cycle: 5/4, 10dpo.  We did a round of Femara 5mg, Metformin, and Ovidrel this cycle and I had one follicle.  I have been testing out my trigger and haven't gotten a negative test yet.  Got a squinter on a FRER this morning.  I'm praying it's real and not my trigger screwing with me!

    3. GTKY: What do you do for work? Are you doing what you want to be doing?  I'm a Legal Assistant but also the office manager for our office.  (There is a larger office in Texas).  There are only 7 attorneys and myself so it's a small, relaxed environment.  I've never really had specific career goals and about 6 years ago I kind of stumbled into a position in the legal field and love it.  I have my bachelor's in Family Studies and Social Work but don't really plan to do anything with it.  I need to get my Master's to get a job in that field (which I don't plan to get for awhile) and then I would get paid much less than I do now.  So I'm happy with my current job and plan to stay!

  • Hi, I'm new here, but I thought I would try to get involved as much as possible to not only receive support, but give support as well!

    2. Had a D&C last Wednesday, so hopefully the worst is behind me. Will receive the green light to TTC after my first cycle. Doing my best to be patient and hopefully being active in these boards and discussions will help with that!

    3. I work in the telecommunications industry in public relations and gov affairs. This industry is always rapidly changing and it is interesting to see how fast technology is constantly evolving. I really enjoy what I do. I get the opportunity to connect with the community and develop lasting relationships that work toward the company's goals and objectives. Every day is something different and I have the flexibility to plan events, create strategic partnerships and just meet wonderful people in the city that I live in!
  • First cycle TTC after a 12week MMC. I'm 2dpo and I am waiting to test until 14dpo which is next Saturday, November 7th.

I am a sahm but also run a very small in home daycare. We can live off of DH income but I do this because we have been working hard to become debt free. This Friday I will be making our last debt payment! So worth it!
  • @cgilles87 sorry for your loss, but welcome to the board! Hopefully you will find it as helpful as I have and won't have to be here long!

  • 11 months TTC, going into 6th cycle TTCAL. Adding in OPKs this month I am a physiotherapist and Regional Manager for a private Rehab Company mostly work in home and work the rest of time from my home office. I love being a physio and the flexibility of my role, but would love to do a little more patient care and a little less management. I took the Management Role as to cover a Mat Leave and then stayed at it when asked because I thought I'd be on a Mat Leave of my own and that the more Sedentary nature of management would be good while expecting.. ...

  • 2. Still waiting for AF. Today is one month since the MC and I'm feeling very impatient. I want to start so I can get surgery scheduled and move forward in TTC.
    3. I have worked in child protection for six years- 4 as an investigator, 1 as an in-home worker and 1 as an Independent Living Specialist (my current position- working with teens in foster care who are transitioning in to adulthood). I just graduated in May with my masters in social work which was pretty exciting. I love what I do. Working with teens is never boring and extremely rewarding.
  • 2. Status (ex: Months/Cycles TTCAL and WTO or TWW, benched or currently going through a loss)
WTO after my MMC and waiting one cycle.  O should be here by next Friday!!

    3. GTKY: What do you do for work? Are you doing what you want to be doing?
I am an elementary school teacher at a Catholic School.  I have taught K, 1, and 3.  I love my job, but am hoping to get to move back to K or 1st when a spot opens.
  • 2. I was TTA until I met with my OB yesterday...that was an interesting visit to say the least. I asked him if it was at all possible to start some testing to figure out why I had 2 early losses in a row, even though I know I'm only in my 4th month ttc I figured it couldn't hurt to ask. He agreed without any hesitation and gave req's for the CD3 and CD21 blood work along with 10 day RX of prometrium to jump start a cycle instead of me waiting for who know how long (last time it was 45 days to O). The only thing that bothered me is when I mentioned that according to my temps I likely O'd 4 days ago his response was "I wouldn't put much faith in temping"...ummmm what? I know/assume the CD21 is technically 7DPO so I'm still going to temp and go in for blood work according to that (I know he's likely going to be an unhappy camper when/if he looks at the testing dates and realizes it's totally not CD 21) but why go if I just o'd...wouldn't I get falsely low results? I figure if he gives me grief about it i'll take my results to another physician (hopefully an RE)

    3. I'm a Medical Lab Technologist, so not only am I capable of drawing blood I'm actually the one in charge of running the tests on it and performing microscopic analysis if something abnormal is flagged in routine blood work. (I'm typing from work as we speak, gotta love night shifts!) I love my job, the hours could be better but I knew that going into this career.

  • Update! Officially now in the TWW, confirmed ovulation today with temps. I'm now 3 DPO. This is my first official time knowingly being in the TWW and let me say. I'm glad I temped, but knowing you ovulated and when and how long you have to wait to test is torture. I finally really understand it. Optimistic about my timing, but trying to not get hopes up. Although I would be lying if I said I didn't put my O date into a calculator to see what my due date would be. The timing would be so perfect! Although that is what I thought last time too. Have a Halloween party at my house this Saturday and am trying to decide how I'm going to approach the drinking. I had a big weekend of drinking before I knew the last time and felt some guilt as a result, although I know that was likely unrelated. Anyway, wanted to give the update!
  • 2. On 3rd month TTC after july mmc at 14 wks. Think I o'd a couple days ago so now it's the waiting game... thankfully being on vacation almost the entire 2ww will keep my mind off obsessing. :)

  • 2. We were benched following an early MC in September. It has been 8 weeks, and AF just came!! YAY!! So now I can say we are off the bench and WTO so we can TTC again! Hoping we can get it on the first shot this time around. :)

    3. I'm an English as a Second Language (ESL) specialist. I work with teachers who have English learners in their classrooms. I'm mostly at the elementary level, but I also serve middle schools and help out at the high schools when I can. Sometimes I get to work with the kiddos, but I mostly work with their teachers. We just starting teaching English to some of the parents, too. It is the craziest job I've ever had! I'm all over the place traveling to multiple schools most days and taking on way more than I can handle, but I wouldn't have it any other way! It is the perfect job for me, and I work with the most amazing group of ladies. The rewards definitely outweigh the stresses!
  • 2. Started ttc March 2014. Mc in April of 2015. Still ttc.
    3. I teach kindergarten at a charter school. I am in my 6th year of teaching kindergarten.
  • 2. Finally got my first AF yesterday since my d&c (and she is here with a vengeance, omg so much Midol needed!!) so now WTO so we can start trying again!

    3. I work in the healthcare field with websites, love what I do and will continue, though I wish I could work from home and have a flexible schedule once we have a LO.
