Being induced Thurs, hoping for a VBAC

I was due 10/23 and will be induced on Nov 5. My first was born via c-section after a failed induction. I don't have preeclampsia this time like I did with the first, so this induction is for totally different reasons, but I know that being induced and not being able to go into labor on my own can both lower my chances of success. I'm starting to feel like I did after my c-section, that my body just doesn't know how to do this. Any words of encouragement/resources/birth stories would be greatly appreciated :)

  • Try the search function. Inductions and birth stories have been covered so many times that most people are tired of re-typing the same answers. You'll find a lot of encouraging stories on past posts. Best of luck on your delivery!

  • I actually did search, and there isn't a lot about VBACs, so that's why I started this post :)
  • Can you get in for some acupuncture before Thursday? I've heard great things for inducing.
I am also going for a VBAC but not due until 11/26.
Or to a chiropractor to make sure baby is in rhI right position?
Do you have a doula? It's not too late.
    Your body can do this!
I had high BP turning to pre-e with my first too. It's a lot for your body to handle on top on an induction.
My midwife keeps reminding me that this is a whole new pregnancy and my body can do it.
  • I'm hoping for a vbac too, but scheduled a section just in case. How does your doc planning on inducing? My doc isn't comfortable with it beyond "natural methods". I do know some docs are moving towards being ok with it now though. I'm going to look into acupuncture for inducing like pp mentioned.

Every birth is different, so try not to get too discouraged! Good luck, mama!

Some of the doctors in my practice will use a foley bulb and a low dose of pitocin. Not all are ok with it. I see one of the midwives but if it comes down to induction I've been advised who to ask for.
They said they are ok with those 2 methods be user they have been proven safe for VBACs.
