Has anyone experienced bell's palsy? This happened to me two days ago. I lost most of the movement to my right side. This is horrible and emotionally exhausting.
Jumpinh over from another board but wanted to let you know that I had Bell's palsy several years ago. The doctor gave me drops for my eye, since it wouldn't produce tears and I had to wear a night eye patch and make sure I wore sun glasses when outdoors. I also received some steroids. I believe it went away after two weeks. I remember reading that most people it goes away and leaves no lasting effects.
It's finally getting better. I have more movement to my eye and my lips are starting to move right again. I am very happy it's going back to normal and isn't staying more months. The only thing tight now that bothers me is the twitching.
If it persists, your doctor can refer you to a speech therapist who is vital stim certified. They attach electrodes to the face to stimulate the muscles! I have had a lot of luck with my patients using the vital stim!
