November 2015 Moms

so sick of the where is baby question!!!

I'm due tomorrow (November 1st) and had my last day of work on Thursday. I'm getting so many emails, texts, and calls asking where the baby is. Of course they only mean well and I respond politely, but I'm getting so sick of the "no baby yet?!?!" messages. The church where we plan on baptizing our baby even called me twice this week asking if the baby was born! It's like, how about I'll let you all know as soon as he's born. Kthanksbye.

  • Seriously though, I started telling people "don't call us, we'll call you" when I got to the end with my daughter. I had to be blunt with a few people and tell them not to ask again. I think it's extremely rude and I don't put up with it! The end of pregnancy is rough enoug as it is!
  • 5 days till D -Day. (Not that it means anything)
  • I've been telling people that if I were to actually be in labour, I wouldn't be responding to a text message.  I didn't mind them at first, but I have friends that message me in the morning, "Baby here yet?", then again in the evening "Still no baby?", then will message my hubby if I don't respond "Is she in labour?".  At first I would respond really nicely, but then the only response I would get back would be "K", or no response, followed by another message the following day.  I've been doing well not stressing, but getting 8-10 messages a day - ugh!

And yes, pp, the questions about how dilated you are, whether you have lost your mucus plug . . . I had a friends husband ask about my opinion on kegels/episiotomies at brunch the other day.  Being pregnant really does take away everyone's filter when they talk to you!

  • As PP have mentioned, people really do mean well when they ask but it can be annoying. We had a lot of family events over the summer and fall and by September my extended family members were already saying, "You're still pregnant?!". Yes... Not due until November! I have one friend who is particularly nosey who texts me daily. Yesterday I responded and told her I'd let her know when it's actually happening. I know she's just excited but come on, I don't need people in my business every day! Also, if your text wakes me up from a nap then you're really in trouble!! ;)
  • People drove me insane when pregnant with DD with those questions and I went exactly 1 week overdue! Nobody is bothering me yet (I have 3 more weeks tho), but I think they know to leave me alone this time! We went to the mall last night and it was the first time I had so many questions, but it was all, "do you know what you are having", "how is mom and baby", "congrats and best of luck". When I said I had 3 weeks left everyone was so shocked to hear I'm that close (made me feel less like a whale)! And when I said I'm team green they were surprised we hadn't found out.
  • @nmwheel1 Too funny! We were at the mall yesterday and I had the same experience pretty much! Shock when I said I was 2 days past the EDD and the surprise over us being Team Green.
  • I just came over from the October Moms, due dates are just an estimate, I've had my dr tell me so many dates from October 28-31st and here I am still pregnant, I'm losing my mind. Oh and I've been off the whole week, so I just wasted a week that I could have been at work. My mom texts every day asking how I feel, still pregnant!
  • It really frustrates me because most of the people who are asking are 'friends' I haven't talked to since high school that just want to come give there germs to baby and give me advice even though they don't actually have kids of their own.
  • Ha! I am still getting "are you pregnant?" Um...no, it's just a tumor. Lol. How fat was I before? 3 weeks+ to go and no, I don't think she will come early. My cervix is s steel trap!
  • I get annoyed by the "baby here yet?" Texts and after I respond nicely I get nothing until the next day of "baby here yet?"... At least say something back... Like, you need me to bring you ice cream and rub your feet while I impatiently text you constantly?!
  • It's so annoying how impatient other people are when WE are the ones who are pregnant. Like I want your sympathy and genuine concern or just don't speak to me at all. Is that so much to ask???
  • I can't believe I'm getting ready for work tomorrow. I was SURE (somehow) I'd be going into labor this weekend. Now I get to smile some more when people ask "no baby yet?" Suuure baby came, I just left him at home to mind the dogs. Idiots.

Same here!  I get a "k" back but that is just as infuriating!

I shut people right down when they text, call or email. I don't want to feel like a watched pot. You can send them this website as a "joke" https://www.haveyouhadthatbabyyet.com Or send them back this meme.

Bahaha this is great. I had to come to work today (due Thursday) and every person, even those I do not socialize with, had to say something. "Wow can't believe you're still here" "No baby yet?!" "You must be feeling tired at this point" "I was certain you would have her this weekend!" Sigh.
