Jumpers

My son just turned five months and someone asked if he uses a jumper. It gave me pause bc I thought he may be too young for it. They said their son was in one around 4 months and loved it. He can hold his head up however can't sit up on his own unattended - unless in the bumbo and high chair. Does anyone else use them? I don't want him to miss out on the fun!

Yes! My LO is 19 weeks and loves her jumpers. We use the Graco door jumper and an activity center. She goes crazy in them. He doesn't need to be able to sit up on his own, just has to have good neck/head control. Try it!

We have an activity center/jumper and he loves it! He's 20 weeks but we started using it around 17 weeks I believe. Maybe earlier. At first he wasn't sure what to do but now bounces away and grabs at everything.

Mine loves hers!!!!we just prop her up with a blanket behind her because she's pretty wobbly in there.

Just turned 4 months on the 17th and just started to use her sisters old jumper! She can reach the ground depending on how she sits and we kinda wrap a blanket around her to fill in the seat

Our doc told us it was ok around 4.5 months because she has good head and neck control. But she said no more than 10 minutes at a time. So we put her in it a few times a day and prop her with blankets.

I'm going to hijack this thread briefly (sorry @btm013 ). My MIL purchased and sent a jumper that works with the doorframe. But our house is such that there really are no doorframes in any of the areas we actually spend time in. Does anyone know if there is a way to use it without the doorframe? Like, are there usually instructions inside for other ways to use it?

We cut the chain on our doorway jumper, (jolly jumper) and attached it to the outside veranda with a new chain. We have out 2 screws in the wood to link the chains into and then secured the end by clamping it down on another link. The beam takes all of the weight rather than the chain

Oh no. I leave mine in longer than 10 minutes for sure. He's so happy in that thing!

Same we have a jungle jumper that is selfsuspended and LO loves it. She's not bouncing super high in it yet but bopping around playing with the toys and of course sucking on the side. We don't time her b ut do notice that before her first nap or after her last nap she's kinda sleepily for it a d tends to do more sucking than playing...

So I went to a consignment shop and bought the Fischer price jumper and after five attempts (and meltdowns) it seems like he is warming up to it. However, he hasn't gotten the hang of bouncing up/down too much yet.

We were gifted the FP step'n play piano and it's great...kind of. I like it, but I wish we would have gotten one that allows her to jump and bounce. She kicks her feet and plays the piano keys, but she can't really jump.

The girls are starting to jump. I really want an exersauser too, just haven't splurged yet. The johnny jumpers were only $20!

Mine has a jumper as well she mostly twirls around haha. It says it safe for 4+ we put her in her door frame and then shift the baby monitor to watch her. She does like it but doesn't know how to bounce I think once she learns that she will be in it all the time because she is constantly moving her legs.

Tried one today, and LO kind of twirls and hops a little. My mother bounces it for him every now and then, and you can see him kind of learning how to jump. Looking forward to watching him learn it!

It's an over-the-door piece, a hand-me-down from my 7 year old niece. Love being the last in the family to have a baby!
