I'm 6 weeks tomorrow and everyday for the past two weeks I have a dull cramping that comes and goes through the day. This is my first pregnancy so I'm new to all the feelings. Does anyone else feel this way? Is this typical?
For future reference, the search feature is your friend. This question, and those about many other generic symptoms, comes up quite frequently. A quick search will bring up the other threads about it and others who are in the same boat. There is also a daily symptom thread to make things a bit more organized and, hopefully, get better responses to symptoms questions.
Yes! As long as you're not bleeding or having truly severe pain you should be fine. I had lots of cramping through week six then it stopped. That was almost as nerve racking as the pain of gotten used to! it can be round ligament pain, especially if your a FTM. GL!
For my last pregnancy, My doctor said to drink water if you feel some cramping. You may be getting dehydrated.
However, I had my 6 week in-take appt at my doctors yesterday and mentioned cramping, which I've had for the past couple of weeks on and off (no bleeding). And they were concerned enough to send me for an early ultrasound. And I found out I am having twins. So it was probably just a lot of stretching causing the cramping. My mom is a twin so I wasn't totally shocked to find that out. Not saying this is a typical cause of cramping, just what happened in my situation.
It's always best to call and talk to your doctor if you are nervous about it, especially if the cramping feels more than mild. And you may just get an early ultrasound.
I personally don't mind someone creating their own thread. (Your question gets more attention that way!)And to answer your question, yes it is normal. This is my fourth baby and I've kept a notebook on all pregnancies. I was just noticing the other day, how much cramping and pain I've gotten from weeks 4 to 8. For me, it seems to die down then, (until third trimester.) I agree with the above poster that it's concerning, but then when it stops, we get concerned again! It's hard being a pregnant, worried, mom! Good-luck!
