Step mom: first bio child

Hey everyone! I'm a step-mom to a wonderful 6 yo boy. We're going to tell him a few days before we tell our families. I got a shirt that says "World's Most Amazing Big Brother" and a onesie that says "I ❤️ my big brother". He's been asking for a baby since we got married last year, so we know he's going to be excited. Any other creative suggestions? Any other step moms here?

    I'm a step mom too! I have two step-sons (14 and 12) and a step- daughter (9). This is also my first child. We are waiting to tell the kids until our 12 week ultrasound and haven't decided yet how to tell them. I'm certainly open to ideas about how to though! Since they are so much older, I don't think we can go the t-shirt route because they'll think they are stupid, because they think everything's stupid. ;)

    I think you have a great plan.  Like any child (bio or step), remember to continue to include him throughout the pregnancy and let him help, when appropriate, when the baby arrives.

    We were teens when my little brother was born.  I gave my stepmom a hard time about it.  Looking back, I believe that my dad handled the whole situation wrong.  I kinda "found out" instead of being told. Anything you do will be a step up from that.  Luckily, communication got better and we're a much happier family.

    I am a step mom as well, and this will be my first biological child.  We are also planning to wait until around Christmas (maybe sooner) to tell our kiddos, only because we think they will LOVE the news as a Christmas gift.  We planned to get them both shirts that say "I am a big sister!"  and "I am a big brother!"
    Once we tell them, they will be able to help and be involved as much as possible.  They are with us 50% of the time and we are all very close!  :)
