June 2016 Moms

Those of you who will have 2 under 2

How are you feeling this time around? This is my second. My first was born in January. I remember how tired I was last time. The first trimester was the hardest as far as the fatigue goes. This time around not only am I dealing with the first trimester fatigue but also breast-feeding and nine-month-old!I find that I am hungry all the time! And thirsty!

Thank goodness the MS hasn't hit yet. Last time it was until about week 13-14 and it was ALL day

Re: Those of you who will have 2 under 2

  • This time around I'm extra hungry; that's what made me take a pregnancy test. I have a 10 month old as well so the sleepiness is not out of the ordinary.

  • @claudiia21 that is true... I have been tired for the last nine months if not before ;) only now no coffee :(

  • Omg! I live on coffee and even tasting it now it's just not the same :(
  • If you're still nursing make sure you're keeping up your fluid intake. I'll have 2u2, but DS2 gave up nursing at 7 months so I don't have that. I suggest making one room at least 100% baby proof so you can take your LO in there and let them play independently while you rest and keep an eye on them. My playroom is my savior some days.

Coffee makes me sick before 11 am so mornings are rough right now.

  • I'll have 2u2 too! My daughter is 8 months right now (born in February). I've thrown up more with this baby than I did with her already! MS is no fun!
  • I'll have 2u2. DS is 11 months right now. With him MS didn't hit until about the 8th week and it was literally only in the morning as I was getting ready for work. By second tri it was gone. I needed naps constantly though.
This go round it's still too early to tell so we'll see what happens.

  • I'll have 2u1. DS is 4 months (born in June) and I'm still nursing as much as in can. I feel as if I'm really beginning drying up. He's only getting about one good feed a day. Makes me sad - hoped to make it to a year. Anyways when I say I am EXHUSTED and STARVING it's a complete understatement lol. I extended my maternity leave, so it's nice to be home but DS does not nap. Maybe for 20 minutes as long as you're holding him, try to put him down... game over. He also is a night owl and stays up until 11pm. He usually sleeps 11-7 which is amazing, but at times wakes up at 4 or 5 am ready to play. It amazes me how little sleep this guy needs. I also just resumed grad classes (thankfully online) and we are closing on a house in the next couple weeks.
  • @blondie1314 wow! Good for you!! My goal was a year also. I have friends who made it 4-5 months pregnant before they dried up :/ so we waited until 6 months before we tried for #2

I am drinking a really be of water and making my lactation cookies tokay ;) also back to oatmeal with flaxseed for breakfast :/

  • @blondie1314 Oh my goodness! You're going through so much! I hope this is not too difficult of a pregnancy for you.

I will have 2u2, and thankfully my symptoms have been super mild compared to last time. It definitely makes taking care of DD easier. I do feel tired a lot and I need to take naps, but I'm a SAHM so it's not as hard as it could be (and DD still takes 2 pretty good naps during the day). The most difficult thing so far has just been all the mixed feelings...I've been really apprehensive about going through the whole newborn thing all over again, this time with another child to take care of as well. My feelings have been turning around in the last couple days, though. Yesterday I went to a party where a few people had tiny babies, and they were so sweet, it reminded me of all the good things about having a newborn. It'll be hard, but it will be worth it. :) I just keep trying to remind myself of that!

  • We're looking at 2u2 too.  My daughter is a little over a year.  I feel the same symptom-wise as last pregnancy, but I *really* miss being able to laze away the weekend days on the couch.  I took vacation last week to spend with my newly one year old and I was SO exhausted.  It was fun though.  And napping while she napped was pretty awesome.

  • I'm also joining the 2u2 club. DD is 8 months (she'll be 15 months by due date). I am extremely sick (nausea and vomiting) and the fatigue is almost unbearable! I'm nervous about managing 2 little ones, but I look forward to them growing up together. I'm glad there are other ladies in the same boat as me!

  • So I am not sure of pregnancy yet, but with my DD I lived on the J15 board and hearing all the similar stories was really comforting. Feeling much better that if I am pregnant there are other moms here having 2 under 2! I'll be taking a test tonight when DH comes home... hoping that lemon craving last night at 2am was just a weird random PMS craving lol
  • @Saracp78 I unfortunately did not realize you have a high chance of losing your supply with pregnancy. Makes sense, but never crossed my mind. Just going to do my best to continue nursing like I am. Hoping to try to start pumping at 2am again. So he can at least get some bm with formula.nWater definitely helps me! I'm up to a gallon a day but I thinking now I need 2 gallons lol Live and learn!

@emucoleman so much on my plate but a lot to look forward to! Kicking myself in the booty for not completing grad school straight after my undergrad, but nothing I can do about that now. I TRY not to think about it lol. I had a great pregnancy last time around and my plan now is to just stay positive so I have another great one. Hopefully baby #2 doesn't have something else in store for me!!

Good luck to you both! :o)
