I've been lurking on this board for a little while and have found a lot of comfort and information from all you wonderful ladies. So thank you in advance for that & I'm sorry that we are all on this difficult journey.
A little bit about my situation: my husband (he's 28) and I (29) have been trying to get pregnant for the last three years with no success. I have a son from a previous relationship as well.
We decided to see a doctor earlier this year about all our concerns. Everything checked out with me but my husband showed 3 million sperm on the first SA and then the next three SAs have shown nothing - zip, zero, nada.
It was quite a shock for us, to say the least.
We went to see a urologist who specializes in TESE (I believe?) to try and see if there is a chance we can get sperm out that way. The doctor drew some labs to test for genetic deficiencies to rule out the possibility that he has no sperm anywhere and we are waiting on those results. In the meantime, he wants him to start Clomid and (pending the genetic results) try for the biopsy and coordinate IVF on the same day (assuming they find sperm).
The doctor also mentioned the possibility of donor sperm. My husband is currently 100% against it and I'm honestly not sure how I feel about it. I really want to have children, we are both fairly young and I always imagined we would have children of our own.
I feel a little lost right now, just waiting on these genetic test results and then (future) waiting on the Clomid/biopsy results.
I feel lucky to have found such a wealth of information and great group of women going through similar situations. Good luck to all of us
Thanks for reading my novel if you made it this far!

Welcome to the board. I can imagine how heartbreaking this situation is for both of you. I certainly know how you feel about the donor sperm as it's something I'm contemplating right now too. All we hoped for when we were young is to get married and have a baby with our husbands. Seems easy for so many. Keep us posted
Welcome!! I'm also in an IF situation related to sperm and it is so disheartening. I used to believe (prior to all this) that our issues were more easily resolved if it is a sperm issue, but I'm slowly discovering that isn't the case at all. Medicine has come a long way though, so there is definitely hope!! Best of luck to you, and please keep us posted on your TTC journey!
