Do you mean unemployment or maternity leave? I would refer to your HR dept. all the way. I work in nj, but this is my first baby so learning... there's like u said 4 wks before & 6 wks after (8 if u have c section), And I think one part is short term disability and then there's nj family leave....then there's fmla (which doesn't pay u any $ but hold ur job for 12 wks total after baby is born). It's very confusing, but good luck. Not all companies are the same, but HR can point u in the right direction. And also, most doctors will not SIGN U OUT early unless there is an actual medical reason why u should go out early. Again, upto them on the criteria- I know mine are VERY strict. I'm an epileptic, semi high risk and I have to work till Christmas n due Jan 19th!! But some girls I know we're out since they were 6 months. Good luck, stay positive, don't listen to the BS at work (I know easier said then done), and think of the health of your little one!! :-) PS I'm not expert whatsoever, but maybe there's some other NJ mommies on here too!!
