NT screening

I had my nt screening today and my papp a protein & hcg numbers came back low which can be a marker with the trisomys. Baby's nuchal fold was measured at 3mm and they are concerned when that number is 3mm and up. Has anyone experienced this or something similar? They made me so nervous. I am going in for a CVS test tomorrow.

    I got my results today. He told me everything was ok, except it came back positive for Down's syndrome. They are scheduling me for a CVS. I'm nervous too and I know it's not a definite which is why they recommend the CVS test, but I'm so worried.

    I just wanted to tell you both that I'm sorry and share my experience, at least with trisomy 13. I had a missed miscarriage that I realized at 9 weeks, but the baby was measuring 7 weeks. We did testing on the slides from the D&C, which is how we discovered that our baby had trisomy 13. In most cases, when it's a genetic abnormality, the pregnancy miscarries early on. Sending positive thoughts and prayers that both of your tests go well and that your babies are healthy.

    @sherri&david good luck! @PlainJane8350 thank you! And I am so sorry for your loss. Our baby was measuring 13w at 12w4d so I am taking that as a good sign. CVS will be this morning and rapid results should be in 2-3 days so I will be anxiously waiting until then.

    @sherri&david i got home a little while ago. It wasnt bad, i think the emotional stress of the whole situation and the anxiety about the procedure were worse than the actual cvs.
    The dr had to go in abdominally which scared me more since it involved a needle. The needle is so thin you do not feel a pinch... You only feel it going through the layers of fat, muscle, etc. Once it entered the placenta it kind of felt crampy and when the dr suctioned out the cells it was uncomfortable but not pain... Very hard to describe. It was quick. I am glad I did it because in 48 hours Ill have preliminary results and can move on from there. I wish you all the best and pray your baby is okay.

    @smb722 I'm so glad to hear everything went well and hope your baby is ok too. My appt is at 11am tmrw. I'm still nervous though. I know it's only 1% risk of miscarriage, but it scares me. How are you feeling? Did they put you on bed rest?

    @sherri&david i had to rest all day yesterday but today I can resume normal activity. Just no heavy lifting, exercise or sex for another two days. I feel fine, just some very mild cramping which they said is completely normal and should subside in another day or two. The hardest part is keeping my mind occupied while I wait for the preliminary results. Best of luck to you today. try to stay calm and have someone with you for moral support. Please keep me posted!

    Just wanted to update... Just received a call with my preliminary results and everything was normal! I am so relieved. Final results will be in next week. Thank you to everyone for your kind words!

    @smb722 that is such awesome news!!!!!

    I had my CVS today. The dr we saw pretty much made it sound like the free cell dna bloodtest we did is pretty accurate so I'm thinking our news won't be good. Should hear something by Friday.
