So sick

Of course I get sick at 38 weeks.. I have a sore throat stuffy nose achy. Ugh anyone get sick like this during pregnancy. Someone told me it was a sign I was going to give birth soon...but I have never heard of such a thing lol. Anyone have any home remedies to make me feel better quick?

Re: So sick

  • I'm dealing with the same thing at 40+4. Cough, stuffy nose, sore throat, but luckily no fever. I think it's just allergies in my case, since I tend to get this way every time the mountain cedar blows in. I'm just drinking a lot of oj, using a humidifier, and warm tea with honey.

  • I got super sick like that around 34 or 35 weeks, I just slept and drank a ton of fluids to help get rid of it quicker! Take care of yourself these next few days to help your body kick this bug you have soon.
  • I've been fighting a cold for a week now but with a SUPER runny nose. It's awful! I've gone through like 15 tissue boxes lol the mucus is coming out of me in the wrong place! Lol

  • I feel like everything after 36 weeks is a "sign" that labor is coming. I've got all this too, and it's the exact same thing as every October before this one. I did hear that were super sensitive to congestion, though, because of all the general swelling, inflammation and fluids in our body. I Nedipot and that gets me through it, but I pretty much sound congested all the time and my throat kills me every morning. Meh, not the worst symptom going on these days!
  • This was me last week at 37.5 weeks. I just went home early, pulled out the sleeper sofa and just RESTED. That seemed to help a lot, still not feeling great but I don't think we will at this point regardless of whether or not we're sick ;)
  • I've been nauseated since Saturday went into L&D on Tuesday dehydrated and with diarrhea. I felt ok the past 2 days and now I'm sick again :(
  • I was stuffy, sore throat and hot flashes (no fever) eight at 39 weeks. I'm now 40 weeks + 5 and no baby! I wouldn't say it's a sign.

I got extra rest, continued pre-natals and added a b-complex vitamin, and drank plenty of apple juice and grapefruit juice. I also took tylenol any time I felt like I could potentially be feverish. In three days I felt better!

I am just getting over the same thing, which started at 36w6d. I was too nervous to take any cold medication so I just relied on Tylenol, hot chocolate, and vitamin C drops for my sore throat, Vicks for my nasal congestion at night, and lots of rest. It was awful but it is finally subsiding after a week and a half.
  • Me too!! Sore throat and stuffy nose for about a week now!! Worst part is my due date was today and my doctor said at this point I'll likely have it until after delivery since at this point in pregnancy the immune system is somewhat compromised.
