Rhythmic kicking/pulsating

Has anyone experienced this? Baby is doing this right now and it's so strange! I can actually see my belly move with it! I also get some big movements as well!!

I read online that it could be him practicing his breathing!!! It's so weird!!

Re: Rhythmic kicking/pulsating

  • It's usually hiccups with mine.

  • I have been seeing a small rhythmic movement in my belly when laying down but at my last ultrasound I noticed that I could time it with my own heartbeat and see it in my thoracic aorta. It was pretty cool, I knew it was too slow to be her hb but to fast for hiccups too!

This is exactly it!! And I had a 3D ultrasound this morning and he was being super quiet and shy! Now he's crazy! Lol!

This is what I was told during an ultrasound. There was very rhymtic tapping and I just thought it was kicks or something but the tech said when it's that consistent, it's hiccups.
    Super weird to think about!!!!
  • Hiccups for sure
  • It is weird to think there's a separate being in there moving on their own. It gets me at night. My LO always ends up transverse while I'm sleeping with his head on the opposite side of whichever I'm laying on and I can feel him actually peddling his feet (something my husband does as well) along my side.
  • I would say hiccups too! Mine gets them 1-2x per day

It's really the coolest thing and the weirdest thing I've ever done!
  • My DS had this all the time and it was hiccups. Last night this little one had them for the first time. Definitely ann interesting feeling. My husband was able to feel them.
  • I would say hiccups too. Some days she doesn't have any that I can feel while I'm awake and some days she has them several times a day.

  • Probably hiccups, when I first felt hiccups it didn't occur to me what it was so I was trying to figure out why stomach suddenly seemed to have a pulse...oops!

Yep. Baby has the hiccups a couple of times a day. With DS i had a rhythmic clicking on my left side. When he was born I figured it out. He sucked his left thumb like it was his job.
