Stretch marks yet?

Anyone have them yet? So far so good over here. I'm moisturizing like crazy, but I'm also wondering if it's still a little too early to be seeing them. Tonight my belly feels super tight, like I have it puffed the whole way out. Such an uncomfortable feeling.

Re: Stretch marks yet?

  • No stretch marks so far and I didn't get any with my first pregnancy. My Mom didn't get any either. I think it has a lot to do with genetics and how hydrated your skin is. So I drink about 100 oz a day to hydrate from the inside.

Oh yeah, none on my tummy but some on my thighs and hips. I'm very prone to them. Got heaps during puberty. Such a bummer. I stay very hydrated, so I'd say genetics is the bigger factor. I've also been using bio oil and moisturizer, so they most certainly start beneath the skin- but I'm hoping that the bio oil will stop them looking too bad.
  • I've had them since week 12.... I moisturized SOOOO much and they still came in. Not the end of the world but ya I've had them a long time... but I know that it depends on the pregnancy, my friend never got any.

^^^ All the above. I also got them heavily during puberty. It depends on your genetics more than anything. I have them, too.
  • None on my stomach, but my boobs look awful!! It may also be because i have implants.

  • None for me, although I'm prone to them so we'll see what happens!

  • None for me... I'm actually suprised I don't have them on my boobs! Just some light already existing ones....also from puberty.

I'm staying hydrated, moisterizing, and crossing my fingers. I do think it's pretty unavoidable and mostly genetics though! Trying to prevent them can't hurt right?
  • I don't have any yet...knock on wood! I'm surprised though because my mom had them through both of her pregnancies!
  • My stomach is an absolute road map. Awful. Started before I was even showing!
  • Yup! Several new ones for me as well. As others have said I'm pretty prone to them so I'm not surprised. I still use all the oils and moisturizers every day though to try to minimize it as best as I can!
  • With my first I was so mad cause I thought I was in the clear then I got them all over lower stomach and upper thighs literally in my 9th month. So keep moisturizing like crazy!
  • Yup lots and lots on my tummy. Documentation of my three kids :) but like pp have said it's very dependant on genetics.
  • I'm totally covered, as I was very heavy most of my life. I have since lost 100 lbs, and the one plus to already being all stretched out is no new stretch marks for pregnancy!
  • My mom didn't get them, but my sister did... Trying to drink lots of water and hubby lotions my belly before bed each night and sings her a song. So sweet, it melts my heart every night! Hoping to avoid them, but if it happens, oh well!
  • Yup, I've got a couple on the bottom side of my belly. Baby is carrying low. Haven't been moisturizing, but perhaps I should.
  • I got them bad with my first pregnancy so now it's hard to tell if I've gotten any new ones or if they're all the old ones. I am starting to get the super itchy skin on my belly like I had the last couple months of my first though. Stretch mark cream seemed to be the only thing that helped with the itchiness before so I'm going to start using that again. I don't really care about the stretch marks but the itches are awful!
  • Been moisturizing, but like others above I got a lot during puberty and I'm not too hopeful. I have some little ones on the underside of my breasts and some old ones around my hips and thighs. No belly marks yet!

Just on my boobs! Never even thought about that happening for some reason, lol. I did get them when I grew quickly during puberty so I'm sure I'll get some on my tummy too, I'm just going to enjoy my nice smooth bump for now though!
  • I got them on my upper legs in the first trimester, even though I was loosing weight!! Now (29+3) I have them all over my legs and stomach, it looks like I am wearing a fancy zig-zag patterened belt. I am perfectly on track for weight gain. Oh well. Some people get them, some people don't!
  • None so far (only 25 weeks and 3 days though) but I seriously don't care at this point because I had SO MANY stretch marks during puberty, so I've been living with them my whole life.  (Luckily, ladies who are getting their first now - they seriously fade away to practically nothing.  I do not even notice mine anymore at all and they don't show up in photos.)

But what I have noticed is veins becoming much more prominent in my stomach!  It's crazy!  I thought one of them was dirt and tried to brush it off before realizing it was a giant vein in the middle of my stomach I can totally see.  I have a slight blood/vein phobia so I find this way grosser than stretch marks, even if it is (hopefully) temporary!
  • Oh hell yeah. Mine started coming in around 10 weeks on my lower belly but I'm definitely prone to them. I can also tell when I'm getting more or they're expanding because I get super itchy until they appear. I've also got them all over my inner thighs for some reason! Moisturizer has only helped with the itching, they're going to happen whether I want them to or not! I also have a few on my boobs. :(

And oh my god, veins! I've got pretty pale skin so you can basically see these huge blue tree-looking patterns on my belly. And my upper arms look like road maps! All part of the joys of pregnancy! ;)
  • Omg you're so funny. I feel the same way. I'm
Constantly motioned up with various lotions and drinking tons of water, but they've been popping pretty much since the beginning. So frustrating.
  • I will be 30 weeks tomorrow. I have gotten them, but sparingly so far. I am attributing this to my moisturizing and hydration that they are not worse. I have a couple on my right breast and a couple on my left hip, but a lot all over my bottom! I did not moisturize my butt the same as everything else. Thankful for them not coming in huge clusters on my boobs and hips. None on the belly so far *crossing my fingers!* because as many of you stated I have several from puberty on my hips and butt. 10 weeks (and lots of growing :) to go so we will see!!
  • None yet. And none during my twin pregnancy, when I gained over 40% of my prepregnancy weight. Neither my mom not grandmother got them and I'm hoping that with just one baby and normal weight gain I'll be safe since I didn't get them with two. I do have some tiny old ones on my legs and (teeny) boobs from growth spurts during puberty so I thought my skin was doomed when I was having twins.

I'll echo that I think it's mostly genetics, though I do believe staying moisturized on the inside and out maximizes your genes. I drink a lot of water, eat healthy fats, and moisturized my skin twice a day with non toxic moisturizers. I've switched between Honest brand and Mama Mio belly creams and organic coconut oil.

I read that pumpkin seeds are great for skin. Ate them last pregnancy but I've been much more into almonds this time.
  • Lol I've had stretch marks since I was 11. Nothing unusual for me.
  • If I've gotten them everywhere except my belly would it be safe to assume they won't come? Or could they still show up in the last couple months? It might be a silly question but they're so terrible on my boobs and hips that I can't believe there hasn't even been one anywhere around my stomach!
  • On my boobs but not on my belly yet. I'm bad about moisturizing but good about hydrating.
  • Ive been getting a bunch on my lower tummy and some on my boobs. SO calls them my cute tiger stripes and says to be proud of them, I earned them. :x
