Forgetful

I know when I was pregnant I had a hard time remembering stuff and it was called pregnancy brain. But since I've had my daughter I still have a hard time remembering things. Before I got pregnant I could remember everything now I'm lucky if I can leave the house with everything I need. Anybody else going through this?

Re: Forgetful

  • Y...E....S!! Honestly, sometimes it makes me scared I'm losing my mind. I used to remember everything. I'll walk into a room and forget why I went in there. I think it's so scary because I was so good at remembering everything before. I've talked to other mom's about it, and it's very common. There is just so much more going on in our brains now even when we aren't conscious of it. We are constantly in tuned with another life now, and babies are needy. Doing that takes a lot of brain power. Seriously. Plus, keeping up with a new schedule on top of sleep deprivation is hard. Hang in there! You are definitely not alone!

  • I'm the exact same way! I thought it would leave after I gave birth but I am still lucky to remember to lock the door when I leave the house. I wonder if it has anything to do with stress. My husband is a truck driver and is gone 3 weeks out of the month and we moved to another state where I have no friends or family and I am stressed and overwhelmed 95% of the time. I'm wondering if that's what's going on with me. But it's driving me crazy. I have to make reminders to do something and half the time my reminder has a reminder on it. Lol you are not alone though!
  • Thank goodness I'm not alone! I forget and leave my wallet at home at least 3 times a week and I didn't even notice that I didn't have my wallet for a whole weekend until I got in the car on Monday and saw it laying in the floor! Glad to know I really haven't lost my mind like I thought
  • Yes all the time. My husband even tells me do u remember wat i asked u to do. Lol huumm. No. But i still blam it on the newborn brain. Lol and having a housefull of kids and being stressed all the time doesnt help. But your most deff. Not alone.
  • My husband works nights, so we usually have a discussion in the mornings about when he needs up (if he sleeps through his alarm) and what we want for dinner. I can barely remember what time he needs up most days and 2 days ago I spent all day trying to remember what he said he wanted to eat. Literally. It was 7:30 at night when I finally remembered.

It drives me nuts, I used to pride myself on my ability to remember things and anymore I'm that person who would forget her head if it wasn't attached.
