We had our baby boy XP

Hi ladies,
We had our baby boy last night. Of course I think he's perfect :) It was a pretty fast and intense induction.
Timeline:
6.30pm Cervadil placed in
830pm Placed on monitoring
9pm I ask to be taken off monitoring so I can get up to work through the contractions.
9.45pm hospital mw examines me and I'm 3cm dilated. She does a stretch and sweep of the membranes.
10.20pm I ring my husband to come up to the hospital (he'd been sent home off the ward at 8pm) I'm taken down to delivery
10.30pm My mw arrives back at the hospital.
10.45pm husband arrives.
11.pm waters are broken.
11.15pm baby is delivered.
11.20pm placenta is delivered.

So about an hour and a half from being 3cm to baby being delivered. It was pretty intense, and baby was completely posterior which made pushing him out seriously hard work.

His cord was over a metre long, it was wrapped around his neck 3 times, and tangled around his arms, legs and body.

I'm thankful that the hospital staff didn't insist on constant monitoring, despite hospital protocol. In fact there's no way I would have been able to lie in a bed, but I didn't need any pain-meds, and certainly didn't have time for an epi.

I did have some bleeding, but no tearing, and baby boy weighed 7lbs and 2 oz, which is little for me, after my last baby was 10lbs, and my first was 9lbs.

All is well and we are settling in nicely.
Best wishes to those of you who have births coming up soon, and to those of you who are at the earlier stages of your pregnancies.

Thank you for your support and friendship over the last few months. It has meant a lot.

I was on here back last winter with you guys before I suffered a miscarriage in February.  You were always so kind and supportive.  I remembered a couple of you were due in October and wanted to sign on to wish you my congratulations!!
It has been one tough year (my mother got very ill), so fiance and I have not been ttc, but thinking of options now-- at 43 now and time is, well you know.   Anyway, my congratulations to you guys and wishing you the best of everything!   ENJOY!
