I have found at least 20 names that I love for a girl, but can't seem to find any for a boy. I guess I am being kind of picky, but thought I would post here and see if anyone has ideas that meet this criteria.
- Doesn't start or end with S or S sound
- Our last name is three syllables, the first two sound like "stew-bin" so I guess nothing that ends with that same "-in" sound. Example: I like the name Owen, but I think it sounds kind of rhyme-y with our last name.
- Nothing super long because of the long last name.
- Doesn't start with B - this is negotiable I guess, but my older son is Brayden (he has a different last name so the ending sound wasn't a problem) and I don't want them matchy at all
- Middle name will be James, not negotiable, so I guess probably nothing starting with J either unless it flows well
- ETA: Bonus if it's not overly popular or trendy. I know Brayden is trendy but my tastes have changed in the last ten years.
My absolute favorite name is Eli and it meets all of the above, but my H's cousin just used it, so that's out.
Some of the girl names I like to give an idea of style are: Rhea, Ava, Paige, Maya, Nora, Mallory, Tessa, Elsie, Kendra
Anyone have anything? I know this is an annoying set of requirements. Luckily we are still TTC so I have plenty of time.

I agree this is an annoying set of criteria, making it almost impossible to help you much. Do your girls names all fit into this list of dos and donts?
Be careful of Richard James. Rick James was an 80s singer with ridiculous songs. I know this because my brothers name is Richard James and he was teased endlessly.
I don't get the role rule that it can't end in an -un sound because your last name does . Our name ends in -in sound and we are strongly considering Benjamin. ...I don't think it is rhymey at all.
Anyway.

I'm surprised at how many names actually do meet what I am looking for, it seemed like any name I came across that I liked just didn't work for one reason or another.
As far as the -in sound ( @cjt121413 ), I guess it seems worse with some names than others. For example, I just think Justin Stewbin (not our real last name) sounds really rhyme, but Benjamin Stewbin doesn't. Maybe because of the three syllables? But you're right, I can probably relax about that.
Anyway, thank you again for all of your help. I am adding a few of these to the list.
