Low heart rate at first appointment

  I got a low heart rate reading at 6 weeks exactly. The tech didn't seem worried, the doc said he'd recheck in a week but I've read it can be normal because the heart starts to beat around that point. Mine was 90 at 6w exactly. But I'm not sure of my dates so it could be a little over 5 weeks when it was read. What was yours

  Same here. Today my baby only had a 60bpm heart rate and was measuring 6 weeks exactly. My US tech did not seem phased and said baby's can have slower rates when the heart first starts beating. My doctor has me terrified though. She said she is very concerned and from the way she spoke and worded things it seemd like she is expecting the worst. Right now I feel cautiously hopeful and have an US next Thursday to check for progress. In the meantime I will keep on praying and be sure to keep you and your sweet little one in my prayers as well.

  I think doctors are sometimes more "realistic" than they need to be. They always tell you worse case scenario. It's great she's being proactive and it's great that there was a heartbeat! Keeping my FX for a awesome scan next week for you.

  She asked me to come back in on Friday. If it hasn't improved she's going to put me on progesterone. I will be keeping you in my prayers as well. Thank you for your kind words.
