I don't know where to start - does anyone have any experience? if so, how long after IUD removal did you get a period? Did you have a regular cycle from that point on? How long did it take you to get pregnant?
No one can answer this question for you. As PP mentioned, everyone is different and our bodies all react differently. If you don't have your period within 60 days then contact your doctor. It can take weeks or months for your body to regulate after BC.

This question is asked quite frequently, so you could do a search in the forums. Definitely read the newbie post pinned to the top.
I had my IUD removed in July. My first period was 3 weeks later. I've been ovulating regularly but have a short LP. I'm on cycle 5 and have not conceived yet. But none of this means absolutely anything for you. My fertility has absolutely no bearing on your own. Technically, fertility can return immediately after IUD removal. But that doesn't mean yours will. I suggest charting and temping right away to get a sense of what is going on with your body.
I asked my doctor this same question when I had my IUD removed in September. She told me that it can really vary and to expect a few months to get back into a regular cycle but there are still rare instances of women coming back the next month with a positive preganancy test.
For me, I had a 5-day period starting 3 weeks after removal. I'm still waiting for signs of ovulation since then so in the meantime I just try to remain calm and zen about things- it'll happen when it happens.
It also matters whether your IUD was hormonal (Mirena and others) or non-hormonal (Paragard and others). The hormonal ones may require some time for your body to get regulated. The non-hormonal ones generally don't interrupt things so much.
Do search the boards and ask your doctor, as PPs mentioned.
Everyone is different, but here's my story. I had mirena removed mid-August. About 5 days later I had bleeding. Next cycle was 32 days, ovulating on CD18. I'm still in the cycle after that, cd43 and no ovulation yet. So thats fun.
*loss mentioned* I timed my Mirena removal so that I was getting it out just a few days before my period was due. I got it removed on June 20 and had a positive pregnancy test on July 19th. Unfortunately, that pregnancy ended at 12 weeks with a MMC. My dr said getting pregnant so soon after the Mirena had nothing to do with it but I'm not so sure. I wish I would have waited one more cycle.
I had mine removed in Feb 2015. My doctor said most women have a period within 4-6 weeks, I had one about 5 weeks later. My cycles were between 28 and 35 days. We started NTNP in April, I got pregnant in June but had an early m/c. Things were weird after that, but I had a seemingly normal period in August so we started TTC in September. BFN last month so on to cycle 2. This cycle is my first temping so I cant say for sure if I've ovulated or not every cycle, but things seem to have been regular (just looking at number of days) with the exception of after the m/c.
OP - I understand that you want to know what other people in a similar situation experience, but it really has no bearing in what you will go through. And this is a TTC board so your responses are very unlikely to include the reassuring success stories you want to hear (they have moved on to the tri boards and various BMBs). Please know that they exist, because on here you may hear more loss stories than you would like when asking for personal experiences.
I second @lalalorelai's recommendation to start temping and charting now. I had my Mirena IUD out in July and I'm only on my 3rd cycle. I got withdrawal bleeding 2 days after, and then didn't see AF for 39days. My cycles are 36-39days and my last AF was just now back to heavy/normal for me. Nobody else's experience had bearing on mine, but I can tell you I sure wish I had temps and a chart to look at during that first 39 day cycle.

@FloridaStanley - I'm very similar to timeline as you. i had mirena out in early August, with some bleeding a few days after. I had a 42 days cycle with no clear O (but I stupidly stopped temping at day 29 cuz obviously I was gonna be totes pregnant on the first cycle). I'm on day 38 of cycle 2 with no O in sight.

As PPs have said, my fertility, or anyone else's fertility, has no bearing on your fertility.
That being said, I had Mirena removed in March '15 and had spotting for pretty much an entire month straight, ending in a week of period-like bleeding. I went back on Nuva Ring for a few months until June and have been off HBC since. I think Nuva Ring helped re-regulate my periods. I didn't start charting until last month and I can confirm that I did ovulate in September... So 6 months after Mirena and 4 after Nuva Ring I definitely ovulated. I have no idea about O in any months prior as I was not charting. As others have mentioned, I also have a short LP. I will also add that I will never go on Mirena again. I had a horrible experience with it, but that is another story.
Just like @lalaloralei and @virginiaham I also had Mirena removed in July. I ovulated later in my cycle than normal, but did ovulate in July and had a period just a week or so later than normal. I actually got pregnant on my 3rd cycle (last month), but it turned out to be an early loss completely unrelated to the IUD.
I'm now on 4th cycle TTC.
As everyone else told you, everyone is different and our bodies all respond differently. Take their advice, read the newbie thread on the first page at the top, and start charting. You will be so happy you did! Also, participate in the WTO (waiting to ovulate) and TWW (two week wait) daily threads. It helps a lot.
I had my Mirena removed last Friday and on Sunday I started to bleed. I thought it was spotting.. cause there was NO WAY I could be starting that quickly.. it was bright red for a couple of days and now its gone. I started to temp but need to get a different thermometer as the one I got sucks and doesn't have a light and numbers are not consistent. We aren't officially going to TTC until February. but wanted to get it out so we could start charting.
just like pp's have said everyone is different. Just because some people acted one way doesn't mean you will.
That being said I had my IUD(mirena) removed October 13, I had light spotting that night. Carried on as normal and got my period October 18, it was a normal period unlike they were when I had the mirena and it ended October 22.
To answer your other question no one on the Trying to Get Pregnant board is pregnant, so we can't know how long it took us to conceive-since we haven't yet.
Take a look at the newbie post-extrememly helpful on how this board runs and answers many question. Also try the search bar as many of these things are already answered with threads of things.

****loss and bfp mentioned******* I got my mirena out in 2014- I was pregnant 1 cycle later. That pregnancy ended in miscarriage. I then went 15 months without being able to successfully conceive without help of IVF. There is no rhyme or reason to how quickly it does or doesn't work. The best advise I can give is don't compare your ttc journey to others because we're all different :-)
Like others have mentioned, my story doesn't have any bearing on yours, but here it is anyway.
I had my Mirena taken out at the end of June, had some light bleeding a couple days later, had a full period a month later in July and got a BFP in August. That sadly ended in a mc just last week. I was told it had nothing to do with the Mirena, but I don't know if I believe that.
We'll be trying again as soon as I get the go-ahead from the doctor.
I just scheduled my Mirena removal this week, so although I don't have any experiences to offer right I just wanted to say thank you to those that posted. I did a search for Mirena through the forum and it's nice to read what others went through so if something "weird" happens, you can reassure yourself that your body isn't "weird", just doing its own thing like everyone else's and that's ok.

I made myself crazy googling this when I had my Mirena removed. I read so many different experiences I just made myself even more nuts over it. My suggestion is just to wait it out and see how your body responds. Everyone is different, but here's mine:
I had my Mirena out September 8th. Its been 64 days and I have not yet had my period, and no signs of ovulation (I was temping, OPKs, and checking CM but I got frustrated and gave up temporarily). I don't know how normal it is to go this long, but I think my body is a little messed up because I lost 30lbs while on Mirena, and have had a very low body fat % for the last 6 months.
I'm kinda feeling angry at myself for screwing up my body with the Mirena, but that's in the past and I have to forgive and move on! Just praying every day to see AF.
I did an extensive search of this before getting my Mirena out, both on TB and the Internet at large. Agreed, PPs' experiences have no bearing on OP's (or mine!) but it's just reassuring to read about. At least it was for me.
So here's my story. I'm on what I'm counting as my second cycle charting and my first since Mirena removal. I got a full blown period 2 days after Mirena came out. It lasted 7 long and painful days. I just confirmed ovulation yesterday on CD 14.
I also asked my doctor extensive questions about TTC after Mirena. She told me the most current research doesn't indicate any correlation between miscarriage and Mirena. She also told me the hormones will be out of my system in 36 hours. She said to expect a period that would indicate the start of a cycle but that some women never get that period and become pregnant right away. Though this didn't end up applying to me, she said if I didn't have a period in 6 weeks to take a pregnancy test. She also dispelled the notion of waiting a few cycles for uterus lining to get "back to normal" after I specifically asked about this and cited again the 36 hrs for the hormones to be completely out.
I found all of this information to be very helpful and I hope some of you do as well!
