I'm due in May and my first child was pre-term with no complication but to reduce the risk of having another pre-term labor my doctor want to give me progesterone shots starting at 16 week. Has anyone else done this or are going to do this?
Going to. First was born at 33 weeks 5 days. I'd like to keep thing 2 inside a lTitle bit longer to bake, and the science supports the progesterone shots. Baby 1 had to stay in the hospital a few extra days because of his breathing, he had problems nursing because he tired out so quickly, and he was suuuuuuuuuper skinny. Thing 2 had better finish baking and hit at least 6 pounds or he's grounded.
My first born was pre-term as well. My doc and midwife indicated that there are studies that link low Vitamin D with pre-term labor. They will be monitoring my Vitamin D level throughout in hopes it helps keeps baby #2 in longer. Hope this helps and best of luck!
I've been doing some research on it but it just scares me because the dont know what the negative effects of it if any will be. But, like you I need little blimp to stay in a little longer than my 1st.
