Nighttime sleeping

My LO is 6 weeks old today and cannot sleep lying down in the pack n play or bassinet. She will fall asleep after feedings, I hold her for 15 min but the moment I put her down, she wakes up within 10 minutes. I'm using a heating pad to warm up area. Any other suggestions?!

    Is she swaddled? Does she sleep there during the day too? Can she fall asleep without you during the day?

    Swaddle or sleep sack (we used an arms-out sleep sack because he hated having his arms confined). We also place our baby at the bottom side of the pack n play so his feet touch the bottom edge ... that way if he startles and kicks he meets some resistance and it makes him feel more secure. We also have a fan running in the room for white noise which definitely helps.

    He's 8 weeks and sleeps 6-9 hours straight at night, then another 2-4 hours after a diaper change and feeding, but will only nap for 40 minutes tops in his pack n play during the day. It's normal for them to take frequent short naps during the day at this age though. Sometimes he'll take longer naps if I'm holding him. I also don't go pick him up or check on him until he's actually crying. He makes a lot of noise in between sleep cycles at night and will wake up for a bit, but he always puts himself back to sleep.
