Any other plus sized FTM with an anterior placenta out there? I've seen the "baby bump" thread and I'm sort of disappointed that I don't really have any bump at all yet at 25 weeks
I don't have anterior placenta but I am plus sized.. I knew going into the pregnancy I wouldn't have that cute bump most women have and it would probably just look like I've gained weight until the last couple months, if at all. With that said, I definitely still get a bit envious of the bump thread. It's just something we have to cope and deal with though since it is a drawback of being plus sized and pregnant. I've been wearing a waist belt lately with my outfits and will say it definitely tricks the eye into thinking there's more of a bump than there is. Good luck and just remember all our bodies are different so don't be too down on yours!
Yep, that's me. Like PP said, each person is different and begin showing at different rates.
I'm looking at it like this: I'm still able to wear my normal clothes so I won't need to buy too much maternity clothing, I don't have to deal with random people coming up and invading my space, and I suspect my back pains aren't as bad as some are experiencing.
somehow I still grew out of my clothes really really early (like 13 weeks my pants stopped buttoning and around 17 my stretchy work pants stopped being comfortable) Those who are close to me and know how I'm built can definitely tell but probably to many people on the streets I just look like a fat woman which sometimes feels disappointing but there is a part of me that doesn't care either because who cares what some dude at a gas station (for example) thinks of my body?
I've been looking for a plus size maternity winter jacket if anyone has seen one. I've looked everywhere I can think of.
I think the thing I find most disappointing is that I haven't felt kicks yet. I know the anterior placenta and the plus size is two strikes against me but it's a total bummer.
I dont have an anterior placenta, but I can rate to the plus size. I was so bummed not feeling any kicks and was getting so down when all my friends were feeling theirs at 16 weeks. I am 22 weeks and 3 days and just started feeling kicks. I really didn't think I would ever feel them, I know it's hard but just give it a little more time with the anterior placenta. I would not doubt if the kicks were right around the corner for you!
I get jealous of all the super cute baby bumps on the bump thread also. I would love to have that. Mine just started showing a very little bit but it's definitely not a nice round D belly, I have a B belly and makes me think people will never actually think I'm pregnant. I do notice if I wear actual maternity shirts that it enhances it a little more making it look bigger than it is. But I'm sure people still just think I'm fat and wearing stretchy clothes. Haha. But that's ok, my husband notices and still loves it no matter what and to me that's what matters. Don't get too down on yourself. Everyone is different and will show and feel movement at different times. You are growing a human and it is beautiful no matter what!
Also, just thought I would add that as FTM's we don't really know what we are exactly feeling for until they start getting a little stronger. The reason I knew mine were kicks was because I started to feel them in the same place all the time and they started to get a little stronger. It wasn't like gas moving through. (Which is kind of what it felt like for me). And I only feel them when I'm laying down. Mostly when I lay down to sleep at night.
I have twins going and one has an anterior placenta. I am 23 weeks and I think I am starting to feel kicks more on the other side. The one with the anterior placenta has her own built in punching bag that isn't me to beat up instead. I also am just stating to show but think I just look like a fat woman with a gut.
I'm a plus size FTM with an anterior placenta. I started feeling kicks about 20 weeks but they are super low and definitely not everyday. For me they kind of feel like either tiny muscle spasms or little gas bubbles and I only feel them when I'm sitting down. She was head down our A/S so I'm going with they are little punches. I totally get where you are coming from with being jealous of others bumps. H says I look like I have a bump, but still think I look just fat in most close. Like PP maternity close create more of an illusion of bump, but I'm still holding onto hope that my bump will come one day. I'm just 22 weeks so there a little time for it so show up.
I've been feeling dull kicks by my belly button area or almost when she's pushing down, so like the very upper of my vagina area if that makes sense. But there's no movement from the outside that you can see and it's not all of the time or everyday I feel it.
Since my first appointment at 9 weeks I've actually LOST 15 pounds... And for better into some pants than before! I know everyone's pregnancy experiences are different. I suppose I'm just envious about not physically looking pregnant. I'll say to someone "I'm 25 weeks" and they are like oh wow really?! I guess it's a good thing in some aspects also.
Reading everyone's comments does make me feel less "alone" in my feeling though.
I am plus size with an anterior placenta. I first started feeling movement at 22w 1d. I am 25w 4d now. She is just starting to be consistent and I have "popped" within the last week or so. So far I am down 8lbs from my starting weight. Check-up on Friday (26w). Will be interested to see if I gained weight due to the bump.
FTM plus size. I never had a belly, carried my weight in the butt, thighs, hips, boobs, etc. At 14 weeks, BAM, I had a gut. Now at 22 weeks I have a B shaped belly that has pushed me out of all my clothes. I don't look pregnant, I look like Homer Simpson.
But you know what, F THIS! I bought maternity shirts that accentuate the belly, and I am owning it.
I started feeling kicks and movement at like 19-20 weeks. I wasn't sure at first, but now I am positive.
Don't worry, your not alone! We are loved and someone thought we were cute enough to get knocked up in the first place!
I definitely jumped into maternity clothes as soon as I could. Not only do i LOVE my comfy stretchy jeans, but I also think the high elastic helps round out my belly instead of the B belly.
Im 23 weeks and 5 days. And i have an anterior placenta. But i see my bump. My stomach has changed alot. My lower stomach was rounder and now my bump is up higher and the bottom of my stomach is just eww now. Im a size 24/26. But every body is different! Edited to say i was going to add a picture but it wont let me today
My belly has gone from a normal chubby B belly to a move obvious oval shape in the middle but still a chubby B belly... Literally no one can tell that I am 26 weeks (as of Halloween!) I already wore loose flowey shirts so I haven't had to get an maternity clothes yet. I'm hoping I just pop over night sometime though!
Granted I'm a STM, but I didn't "pop" until 30 weeks or so. I second maternity pants to give the "b" belly more shape! I'm now 37 weeks and there is NO mistaking there's a baby in there (I can see his feet when he rolls, it's something I didn't expect to see since I'm 60+ lbs heavier than I was with my DD) be patient, the bump will come!
I bought a pair of maternity jeans last week at 24 weeks and that really does make a difference. when I'm in my normal dress pants, I just look like I've gained a few pounds. When I wore the maternity jeans, suddenly there was a more obvious round bump.
