Skin reaction to pampers

My 6 day old was having a skin reaction to her pampers diapers so we bought a box of huggies to see if that's what the problem was. Her skin seemed to clear up and we put a pamper back on and her skin was red front and back.... We will be putting huggies on again- my question is do you think this is a newborn skin sensitivity thing or will she never be able to wear pampers again? I've bought a few boxes in size 1&2- might have to exchange at Walmart hopefully!

Re: Skin reaction to pampers

  • Some babies prefer other diapers than others. I wouldn't keep going back and fourth tho. My other two preferred pampers then when they were past 12 months we did Luvs as well. This time I'm starting off with Huggies to see how that works. (Simply because we will buy diapers/wipes at Costco if it all works out well)

  • If you're stuck on wanting to use pampers they make a sensitive line that you could try.

  • They were the sensitive line... I'm not stuck on them and for some reason my husband prefers how the huggies diaper fits
  • With DD she only used Pampers at first, and then for some reason at about 4 months old, Pampers made her breakout in diaper rash. Switches to Huggies and it cleared up. About a month later, Huggies made her break out, switched back to Pampers and no problems. Finished off diapering with pampers. Their skin goes through a lot of changes and in my opinion, there isn't always a rhyme or reason to it. Walmart will allow you to exchange, even without a receipt. We did that after our diaper shower with no problems.
  • My kids have always had issues with pampers. But this little guy doesn't seem to be. You could always xchange the size he's in now and then wait and see. We use several brands huggies are my fave for many reasons.
  • We used Pampers Swaddlers for the NB diapers and then Huggies from then on out; both have been great for us!
