1st Trimester

Morning sickness?????

I've just found out I'm pregnant with my first, according to my LMP I'm just over 5 weeks. My first scan isn't until the 11th of November.
I have sore boobs, absolutely exhausted, heartburn, hunger pangs all the time and have to pee constantly! But as of yet I've had no nausea or morning sickness, is this normal? I guess I'm just freaking out because I'm not sick? When did everyone else's MS kick in? Or did you not experience it at all? I think Morning sickness would be reassuring, as bad as it is! Just a stress head.

Re: Morning sickness?????

  • There are a billion threads about this and if you use the search function you will find them. Many people never get morning sickness. I didn't and now I'm almost 20 weeks.

  • What @ecwk about the amount of threads on morning sickness. But to answer your question mine kicked in at 5.5 and went balls to the wall weeks 6-10. And became moderate between 11-12. I've hit week 13 now and I'm feeling pretty good (FX that I didn't just jinx myself)
  • Mine kicked in at 5.5 weeks too.. just into my 7th week now. Feeling terrible every single day. @kalanieileen how did you cope between week 6 to 10?
  • Please use the search function. I haven't been sick once, and I'm now 13 weeks.

  • @thengtheng a lot of it was trial and error for me. I had to find foods I could stomach. But I had to switch it up, if I ate the same thing couple days in a row I would end up having an aversion to it. What helped me were lots of pears and peaches for the constipation. Bagels with cream cheese. Saltines. Water with fresh lemon squeezed. Ginger ale was a life saver. I ate very small portions but frequently throughout the day. I could only stomach bland food with not a lot of seasoning. I had to eat something with protein though, if I ate just carbs and sugar I would vomit. I ended up losing ten pounds in first trimester but just hang in there and know that it's all temporary. If you really feel like your morning sickness is more than average contact your OB for help
  • be thankful you dont have morning sickness yet, & try the search function next time you have a question about symptoms. guaranteed it's been asked a thousand times before.
  • I have had "morning" sickness from for about a week, and I am around 5 weeks now. It's really just a queasy feeling that comes and goes all day. And no food I can think of to eat sounds good, anytime I think about eating I feel queasy. I've been living on crackers, applesauce and Sprite. I have heard that for some, the sickness does not kick in until later. Every pregnancy is different, I wouldn't worry too much. It will probably show up soon. I've also been told that symptoms come and go, so you may switch out one of yours for it!

  • My first two pregnancies I didn't have any morning sickness. My sisters and mom never had it either... ? Hoping this last baby isn't going to be the one to give it to me!

  • Symptoms, or lack thereof, are not indicative of the health of your pregnancy. Enjoy the fact that you're not miserable; I was sick for 6 months straight.

  • I felt the same way my first few weeks! I was like...man...this is GREAT!! Pregnancy is so easy...and im going to be that lucky one who doesn't get sick!!!

    enter week 7!

I've been nauseous 24/7 ever since! (and by nauseas i mean: Being hungry all the time, but the thought of food makes you want to vomit. Its unexplainably awful!  But Im almost 11 weeks now and crossing my fingers this unwavering sickness will go away soon.

So I would say take advantage while you can....eat salads while you can still stand the thought of them, go to the gym before just standing up gives you a reason to puke...but also...if you can, take naps and rest up! It can be an exhausting next couple of weeks!
  • Awww Congrats! I am 5 weeks and 5 days so we are on the same track :)

The day of implantation, I threw up! Like the craziest thing I had lunch I was sitting and talking and then I literally had to run to the bathroom. Since then I have thrown up 2 or 3 times but nothing horrible as the morning sickness I hear about. I think we all find something to worry about. I am worried about EVERYTHING right now.
