I went for my regular check up yesterday and my doctor scared me a little. I am 23 weeks pregnant and my baby weighs about 3-4 lbs and i have gained 16 lbs. She wants me to watch my weight but i barely eat. I dont have any cravings and i try to eat as healthy as i can. She also said that my symptoms are not normal at 23 weeks. I have a hard time sleeping already, shortness of breath at night. And this past week my husband has notice that i am sleeping a lot more and that i complain that i am tired all the time. Also my legs and feet hurt a lot at night and i feel like i have no circulation on my feet at times. I feel heavy from the waist down now and i am having a hard time walking. Doctor said that all of those symptoms should happen at 30 weeks pregnant. She wants me to get some lab work done to make sure im still healthy. Has anyone else had this problem? I am worried and this is my first baby.

agreed- it all sounds pretty normal. For the sleeping thing try a snoogle or a body pillow and if you are rolling onto your back try to prop everything up to keep you on your side. My hips have been a bit irritated since about 18 weeks. There is also a thread going on the first page about chiropractors helping with hip pains.
Some people's OBGYNs are a lot more picky than others with things like weight but I've never heard ANYONE say that those types of symptoms aren't common. If you read through the symptoms and complaints threads those seem more common than to not have them.

^^this! I haven't had any comments from the doctor on my weight until this morning's appointment and all she said was that my weight was good. I actually brought it up after saying that I'm glad I haven't had any weight gain comments because I know I'll lose it all after and she said that my weight gain wasn't bad at all and nothing to worry about.BFP 12/31/14, EDD 9/08/14 ~ Natural M/C 2/21/14 at 11.5 weeks

I would not be worried about the 16 lbs at all either! I'm up 21 lbs and am 23 weeks. My midwife has me track my diet and is seriously impressed with the dense nutrition of my meals. I think some of those guidelines are kinda silly though. Everyone's body is different and I honestly feel like our body's naturally know what is best for supporting the growth of the baby. Basically, if you are eating a healthy, well-balanced diet and getting some exercise, then you are doing everything you should be.
Just elevate your feet and rub your legs as much as you can to stimulate circulation and prevent clots! You can never be too safe with that. I get chest pain and shortness of breath all the time and will randomly need to stop waking to catch my breath. Some women don't handle the pressure of pregnancy on their lungs as well, it doesn't mean you've gained too much weight or that you're dying. It just means you aren't the same as the person next to you. Every pregnancy is different, which I personally find to be a beautiful thing.
Also, my baby was a pound at 19w + 5 and now that I'm 24 + 3 I think she's at 4 pounds they said. Your Ob is just being precautionary.
