...Cormac? Pronounced Cor-mick. It's Irish. If you've heard it before, it's probably Cormac McCarthy, the Pulitzer Prize winning author. Otherwise, it's pretty unknown I think.

My DH suggested it and I hated it. Then I started liking it and it was on our list for our first born. We didn't use it but I think I still like it actually. I was going to pronounce it the same way.

Unless your last name IS Mccarthy, then you're a jerk for even considering it.

(No lie, there was a Cormac Mccarthy at my uni. We tossed his equipment rental app out cause we thought some asshole was ducking around, this was shortly after No country for old men came out and every film student was jerking off to it. Metaphorically, in most cases)

I'm Irish and I love cool, different names. I don't know I would use it on my own child-- but I definitely wouldn't side eye it.

Its NMS, but not because it is something that isn't popular. Its NMS because I think that most people are going to see it and pronounce it Cor-Mac (which is what I first thought as well). And it would drive me crazy having to correct people all of the time, and I would hate to have my child have to correct people all of the time.
