Hemorrhoids during pregnancy

Not the happiest topic but one of the most painful...any recommendations on how to avoid and treatment?

I have them too and it sucks! Preparation H, Tucks, and Charmin Ultra Soft toilet paper helped me. Eat lots of fiber and drink lots of water to keep things moving, too.

  • See if your doctor will prescribe Colace. Omg worked wonders for me!
  • You shouldn't Actually need Colace prescribed if they suggest it you can buy it at the store
  • I had them at the beginning of pregnancy. I liked the Prep H Cooling Gel the best. I felt less yucky. And use the Tucks pads.

I take 1-2 Colace daily along with my pre-natal vitamin. It seems to help keep me regular. And my doc was totally ok with it. And @wisco29 is right, you don't need a prescription. It's available with the other stool softners. Whatever you do.... don't use Dulcolax. It will give you explosive diarrhea. It's safe to use every once in a while and I tried it once. Never again!

    Good luck!
