Infertility

2WW Symptoms

Newbie here. Had back to back IUIs 10/14 & 10/15. These are my first IUIs. I was converted from IVF (stimmed for 14 days before converted). I have DOR (AMH level is 0.06). I'll be 38 in two weeks.
Question is about symptoms that you may/may not have had (I know everyone is different, but I'm curious).

Me: No symptoms thru the 10/20 and since then it's been faint twinges. Cramping in lower abdomen and lower back pain; on and off. No spotting. No blood. No achy boobs. I thought every one got achy boobs!

I haven't POAS yet and don't want too. Bloodwork for results on Thursday the 29th.

Have you had no symptoms and still gotten a BFP? What about your 2WW can you share regarding IUIs?

Re: 2WW Symptoms

  • True "early pregnancy" symptoms are the exact same as pms symptoms which is part of the reason symptom spotting is so dangerous. most people here on TB (myself included) make all efforts to completely avoid symptom spotting. It's too early for u at this moment to be experiencing pregnancy symptoms. Good luck at ur beta draw on the 29th

    Thank You.

I'm not on any supplements. I went Sunday the 18th for progesterone and estrogen levels. Nurse said all looked okay and that I didn't need to take any additional supplements. So I don't have mimicking symptoms from those.

What's the earliest anyone's received a BFP from and IUI?
  • @StrangeIncidents I was as patient as I could be and didn't POAS until the morning of my beta (DH and I figured it took some of the pressure off waiting for the phone call regarding my beta results later that day) which was 14 dpiui and I got a very strong BFP! My beta was also super strong.
My recommendation is to wait as long as possible. It's just not worth getting urself upset too early.
Also, you def can't symptom spot. I feel completely normal apart from maybe being a little more tired. Don't suoe yourself to think one way or another- just wait and then test.
Hope this advice helps! Fx for u!!
  • @RMM1204  Good idea - and that is what I was thinking, too.  I was thinking I would use first urine on Thursday to POAS.  Go in for bloodwork around 8am; followed by results call between 1-3pm.  DH will be on a business trip until that evening so he won't even be with me for results.  I am praying for a BFP.  And if I do get a BFP, I am trying to think of ideas to share the news with DH when he gets home after 8pm that evening.  I don't want to jinx myself though.

You didn't feel anything in those 2WW?  Where you hoping for the best, but pretty much thinking it didn't work?  Were you completely shocked when you POAS on the 14dpiui?

    How exciting for you!  Congratulations!!!

Thx! I think that's a great idea. If I could've surprised DH, I totally would've. If you want ideas, maybe check out Pinterest?! Just stay positive- I wasted a lot of time thinking negatively, still am, and its a waste of energy. U have just as likely chance of being KU as not!

Nope- I'm now almost 5weeks and I feel the same as I did before. I sometimes have thought I felt very slight cramping every once in a while, but I never know what's in my head verses what's real. Like I'm looking to feel something.

I hoped for the best but I never thought it would work, especially because it was our first IUI. The lack of symptoms also made me think there was no way I was pregnant (and still does). I actually wasn't as surprised when I POAS because I was a day late with AF, which never happens. So I had an inkling :)

You're giving me hope!!!! So happy to hear these stories!!!
  • During that 2ww, you just have to ignore all your symptoms. It took us 3 attempts at IVF before we got our first and only BFP. The progesterone mimics pregnancy symptoms so I literally felt no different when I was pregnant compared to the embryo transfers that were unsuccessful. The ONE difference on the successful cycle was a tiny bit of brown spotting on 9dp5dt. Good luck!

Interesting.  I am not on progesterone.  I had my levels check and nurse said they looked good, so I didn't have to take any supplements.  So I wouldn't have those mimicking signs.  However, today is 9dpDay1IUI and 8dpDaysIUI and I had pink spotting this morning and then nothing throughout the rest of the day, until this evening, and just now I had a brown discharge when I went to pee.

These 'signs' are too hard not to try and read.  It seriously makes you go nutty.
