Baby just slept through the night *swoon

The part couple of days she's been putting of her bedtime from seven till nine so last night we waited till she fell asleep on her own while nursing then we all went to sleep at 900 and she woke up at 520!! Today she turns 7 weeks and man that was a great way to celebrate.

Also instead of keeping this entirely just a happy brag, I will say I didn't realise she was cold. She took a four hour nap yesterday because I wrapped her up extra in a warm fuzzy blanket before setting her down. For bedtime she was in jammies, a velcro sleep swaddle, and then I put an extra swaddle blanket on her. I feel a little guilty not realising she was too cold to sleep long stretches, but hooray. Now i just have to hold my breath and see if this continues

  • Congrats! That must feel so good! Here's hoping you get a repeat.

  • That happened to us too. My boyfriend noted that he slept his longest stretch the night that we didn't sleep with the window open, so I wrapped him up in an extra blanket the next two nights and he slept for four hour stretches. Not quite through the night but we're only at 5 weeks. Congrats!
  • I'm jelly! At five weeks we just started getting one 3 or 4 hour stretch, but otherwise still up every two hours for boob. Hopefully by seven weeks we'll get longer nights of sleep!
  • I'm opposite! We've reversed. We were sleeping 3-4 hour stretches but now this week we are back to waking every hour to eat. Hopefully just a growth spurt/ phase.
  • What is the temp in your house?
  • My little one is 6 weeks and the past 3 nights she has slept from 11 to 6. It's been wonderful, but I'm scared to get too excited because I return to work on Tuesday and I don't want to jinx things.
  • I am so so lucky my baby has slept 9 hours straight from 4 weeks. Such a blessing xx
  • Quick! Knock on wood ;)
  • I've been very blessed she has been sleeping 6-7 hours at night :) since about 4 weeks
  • Ours sleeps from 10-6 every night it's so nice :)
  • Hi dont you wake up your baby after 4 hrs to feed?
  • I can't speak for everyone else, but since my LO reached her birth weight I let her sleep as much as she wants at night. She usually does between 4-6 hours stretches at night. Now during the day if she's in a super long nap I'll wake her to eat. But I usually don't have to. She naturally wakes up around the 2.5-3 hour mark and wants to eat!
  • So jealous! My little guy, already 10 weeks, always wants to go down at 8. We dream feed at 10 but he's been waking up at 1,2, 3, and then between 5-6. I'm so tired and don't know what to do.

We were only told to do this until birth weight was passed.

    Yep
  • Mine ordinarily wakes automatically every three-four hours overnight to feed (we do three-hour feedings during the day, a big step up from the every two hours we had to do for a few weeks while he was struggling to reach/surpass his birth weight). But this morning, my eyes opened to him fussing at 6:45 a.m., and he hadn't woken up since his feeding at 11:00 the night before.  Unprecedented.

He did have an epic meltdown last evening between about 8 p.m. and 10 p.m., so I'm wondering if a. he seriously wore himself out, or if b. both the epic meltdown and loooooooong sleep are signifiers of a growth spurt.

At any rate, this is the first night since he was born on Sept. 24 that I laid down at night, closed my eyes, and didn't open them again till the legit, sun-up morning.
  • My jealous is through the roof! My LO hasn't made it passed 3 hours and he's 7 weeks. Last night it was every hour. Send your sleep vibes our way!
