  It could have been a chemical pregnancy, a very early miscarriage, very soon after implantation. It's only recently that tests have been able to pick up the very low levels of hCG that chemical pregnancies produce. If a doctor office test was negative, you have very little hCG in your system, if any at all. The symptoms you describe aren't that common in early pregnancy, particularly back aches. If you go 60 days without AF call your doctor.

  ^^^this, if symptoms are cause by pregnancy, the same hormones that cause symptoms will cause a test to turn positive. There is also of good info on ttgp if you are ttc.

  I took a HPT test at home one morning and it was positive. I work in healthcare so I took another one right when I got to work and it was negative. I tried again two days later and it was positive. The HPT are much more sensitive and can pick up very early pregnancy. Way more early then the clinic tests.
