This sounds really weird, but you can achieve the same effect by running hot water over that area in the shower. I'll admit, it's not that confortable to bend over and get the water to reach that area for as long as you can do it, but when I had a surgery "down there" a few years ago, if I didn't have time to do a full sitz bath, I'd do it in the shower. Other options are using a hand held shower head for easier access or to just take a regular bath in a bath tub.
How's your water temperature? I've only tried it once, but getting a comfortable water temp helped me; it still felt strange though. I second the shower head recommendation.
I felt it worked better for me to make an Epsom salt bath in the bathtub and get in and sit on my knees with my knees apart then move water to that area with my hand gently and it helped a lot! More relaxing to me
It was really tender down there for me too. I took a towel and rolled it long ways, then made it into a u and sat my thighs and butt on it, leaving the opening of the u in front. It made it a lot more comfortable. Good luck!
P.S. It will try to float away while you are trying to sit so my DH had to hold it in place while i lowered myself onto it.
I totally agree with the bath. Sometimes I would just get really warm water in the bath tub and sit in that after I showered. It was amazing and totally helped. I have 10 stitches and this was one of the only ways I got relief.
